An upscale option for the vegan in the family

Went out with family for an upscale dining experience to celebrate an occasion. Everyone but myself is an omnivore and the restaurant is definitely geared towards them, but I was still able to have a 3-course meal and it was fantastic!

The William Penn Inn offers a vegan pasta entree with mozzarella cheese and plant-based meat crumbles in the sauce. Serving size could be a little larger compared to everyone else’s meals but it’s otherwise good. Some salads can be made vegan. Highly recommend the Petite Granny Smith Apple Salad without goat cheese. For dessert, a rotating flavor of sorbet is available. I had the passion fruit and it was incredible! Very generous portion, too.

I’m used to being excluded from restaurants like these. Having an actual vegan entree goes such a long way to making the whole experience more accessible! Hope to see the William Penn Inn expand their offerings in the future.

P.S. - Hats off to our server Gigi. She was sooo attentive to my dietary restrictions and happily confirmed any questions I had with the chef when she didn’t know the answer herself. She was so friendly and polite, and never once made me feel like my restrictions were an imposition.

Pros: Incredibly flavorful food, Very knowledgeable and caring staff

Cons: Very expensive (but it’s fine dining), Vegan entree portion is small by comparison
