Vegan and gluten-free choices clearly marked. Mixture of different cuisines with vegan dishes such as calzone, veggie burger, falafel and potato skins. Large salads come with all savory dishes. Hot chocolate cannot be made vegan, but other drinks can like milkshakes. Also has vegan cakes. Live music. Reported closed June 2022.

Lovely food - Edit
The staff were very friendly and welcoming and they were very willing to amend the menu to vegan and veggie options or for any allergies. I had falafel with pita bread and my boyfriend got a Mediterranean wrap and they were both delicious! You can also customise your food with a choice of 3 lovely salad options. Would definitely come back

Very Vegan Friendly! - Edit
I'm sitting in the courtyard garden writing this. A fresh, early July afternoon, almost t-short weather when the sun comes out. I went to the Moon and Sixpence and they very kindly redirected me here, since they're primarily coffee and cake, and I wanted something more substantial. I've gone for the vegan burger, however, there are lots of salad and falafel options available as well. It comes with sweet potato fries and your choice of salad from the salad bar, which is comfortingly not self service. Apparently the vegan burger recipe varies. Today's was very pleasant. I was accidentally given a portion of zucchini with feta by mistake. When I checked to see if it was vegan cheese, it was taken away with profuse apologies and I received a portion of couscous instead, result! Very enjoyable lunch, now I'm heading back to the Moon and Sixpence for the coffee and cake!

Very friendly atmosphere - Edit
WZ is starting to make more of an effort to cater for vegans; the proprietor now shouts "Hey, I've got some vegan cakes!" whenever she sees me. Usually several vegan main courses to choose from. No vegan hot chocolate but interesting milkshakes, such as mango & mint and basil, strawberries & lime. I recommend the peanut butter & banana. Pleasing journey downstairs to the nice toilets past a typical Cockermouth wall that bows out an incredible amount. Tiny patio is useful in summer. Some of the chairs collapse when you sit on them. Usually has music playing (quite a mixed bag); the walls have lively decoration. The sandwich board outside has motivating quotes.

Cons: Food not that sophisticated
