Charming Little Cafe

I love that this cafe uses a variety of flavor profiles. Today I had the Street Food Wrap, and it was the perfect combination of light and filling.

Pros: Vegan, Great food

Friendly yummy vegan goodness

I like this place allot. The staff are super nice and the menue is loaded with goodies. I ordered the crab cakes. They are fierce with flavor and spice super good!!

The parking is akward...if your going to park in the mall parking lot better to park where all the other cars are and walk instead of out front. Apparently the mall cops are stingy or something, so I'm told.

Overall great place worth checking out!!

Pros: All vegan menue yay!! , Friendly staff , Food rocks

Cons: Parking is strange

Yummy breakfast and lunch place

I stopped in for a late lunch on a Saturday afternoon and had the enchilada. It was very very good. It was plenty of food; I saw another reviewer said the portions were small but at least for this one dish it was a full meal.

Then I took a smoothie to go.

It wasn't too crowded so I didn't have service problems, and the staff person out front was very nice and helpful.

The menu looks fabulous and I hope to be able to try everything at some point. Problem is, it's breakfast and lunch and I don't live or work near there, so weekends are my only option. Still, I will make a point of getting there. They are considering dinner as well, which would be great.

Parking is an issue. I parked in the Target lot across the street, but felt nervous because technically I could be towed for parking there and then not shopping in the mall. But in practice it's probably not a big deal.

I'm glad this area, near a major shopping mall, finally has a rock solid vegan joint.

Pros: Excellent food, Friendly staff, Pleasant decor

Cons: Parking

Unique & Tasty!

Wild Rice has a unique & diverse menu with very little crossover with other local vegan or vegetarian places. and the food is great!
They have options like hash-brown waffles, avocado toast, savory pancakes & guilt-free omelet (made with chickpea flour), the latter 2 Indian influenced. There are plenty of gluten-free options, but also some dishes with regular bread.
I think this is my favorite brunch place in Boston.
On the downside, the service is erratic (2 of my 4 visits had good service, the other 2 not so much). & parking is difficult (either you park in Target's lot or some other street - no parking at/near the restaurant). Portion size is a little small so if you're really hungry you may want to get 2 things. -- That said, they just started (soft opening until this weekend), so I expect they will get better & hope to update this review to 5 stars later.
Pankaj, the owner, is great & this place is definitely worth checking out. just bring your patience.

Pros: Diverse & plentiful vegan options, TASTY!

Cons: No close parking, erratic service, Breakfast - lunch only

Delish!

We were in Watertown this morning and stopped by Wild Rice for lunch. What a great place!

We had the street food roll and the tempeh crab cakes. The roll was like a souped up falafel wrap. It had falafel, vegan raita, and delicious massaged kale. It also came with homemade chips. The chips weren't deep-fried and crispy like your typical potato chip; rather, they seemed to be pan-fried, and the result was something that was like a mix between potato chips and home fries. I really liked them.

The tempeh crab cakes were served on a bed of Israeli couscous with two chutneys. The dish had a lot of great flavors and textures.

In addition to the great food, the environment was also nice. It was pleasant to eat a well-made meal in a relaxed cafe atmosphere.

We liked our lunch so much yesterday that we decided to come back early today for breakfast. We ordered the crepes suzette and the hash brown waffles. The crepes were on the thicker side, but they were still very good. The cointreau came through well to give the sauce a bit of complexity, and the whole wheat base was also a nice touch.

The hash brown waffles were absolutely splendid. It sounded like a weird concept, but we took a chance. We certainly didn't regret it. The waffle shape gave it great crunch and texture, the potatoes, thyme, and caramelized onions combined really well, and the vegan cream topping brought it all together. It was really a magnificent dish.

Pros: Tasty food, Relaxed atmosphere, Good price
