This store is cute and the staff are incredibly kind but it falls a little short when offering vegan options, especially in their pre-made section. They do regularly stock vegan foods in their frozen section and update with new products. Sadly none of their baked goods are vegan, including their bagels which have honey.
Great bulk section, limited prepared food options - Edit
Wild Oats is a small co-op with a great bulk section. They had some cool vegan options you wouldn’t find at a regular grocery store but not a huge selection of what I would call vegan staples - in fact, the local Big Y and Stop&Shop are better stocked.
They also didn’t have any vegan baked goods and very limited vegan prepared options when I went.
I would NOT recommend this place for a grab and go vegan meal unless you’re in the mood for fruit and nuts.
If you’re looking for bulk nuts, a limited selection of frozen or refrigerated products, and dry goods, it’s not a bad store for its size (it’s quite small). But if you’re looking for grab and go meals, you’re out of luck. I think there might have been one option.
I love coming here ! It smells great, they have lots of produce as well as pantry items that are healthy, vegan-friendly and local. I really like their prepared foods & hot foods, especially because they label whats Vegan, GF and local 💚
Wild Oats has a lot of great products and I've been shopping there for years but in the past year or so, they've been cutting back on a lot of vegan products in their hot bar and deli. Hopefully they will bring back some products soon.
Their tofu salads are delicious but not always in stock. Vegan sandwiches are sometimes stocked but always tasty.
I'm a student at Williams College just up the road from Wild Oats. Every Saturday (and some Sundays), I walk to Wild Oats, buy a big salad from their salad bar and fill up my re-usable kombucha bottle with their local kombucha and sit down to study. Everyone there is really friendly. Sometimes Woody will play his banjo if it gets slow and bring me free cookies. He's always very positive and he makes me feel less dragged down by all the studying I have to do.
Wild Oats doesn't have a lot of international products, but it has some really good local stuff -- in particular, maple skyr, Aqua Vitea kombucha, and rosemary bagels. I also am a big fan of their salad bar (obviously), though if you get there late in the day, the greens get a bit wilted. Their red wine vinaigrette is tops! They also make really good hummus wraps and a remarkable raw salad with kale and swiss chard and a citrus dressing; the one downside is that their already-prepped food is expensive.
In sum: great people, friendly place to study (they have a little cafe at the front), standard co-op stuff (note: they do carry meat and dairy), and some particularly excellent local products
