Nonprofit organic permaculture project and farm animal sanctuary focusing on education and outreach. Animal residents have been rescued from abuse in most caused by the industrial agricultural system. Visitors can bond with rescued animals and learn alternatives to destructive animal based agriculture, such as veganic gardening, setting up a microsanctuary, and living sustainably. See website for info.

You Won't Want to Leave! - Edit

Wild Earth Farm and Sanctuary is such a special place! It gives you an opportunity to learn, reflect, become involved, and maybe even change your life! The people running Wild Earth are some of the most kindhearted, brilliant, altruistic people I've ever met and it was such an honor to learn from them during my time interning! During a visit, one would see many happy animals, a thriving garden, wild berries galore, and many innovative ways to set up one's own garden or micro-sanctuary! I definitely recommend coming for a volunteer day to be able to visit, learn some about organic gardening and permaculture, and make a contribution to this wonderful organization!

Pros: friendly people, activities and festivities throughout the year, great example to others

Cons: no public tours available

Wonderful place! - Edit

Rescued farmed animals, vegan permaculture classes (1st in the US!), sustainable living education (organic/veganic gardening, rainwater harvesting, foraging for wild foods, alternative energy, no-till farming, composting), and an example of a backyard microsanctuary/organic garden at the sanctuary's homestead. Great place to learn how to protect animals and live more lightly on the earth.

Pros: Animals Rescued from abuse, Takes volunteers, Sustainable living examples

Cons: Just getting started, No public tour dates as of July 2017
