Phenomenal food, service, and atmosphere - Edit
The food here is so tasty and reasonably priced. The chef is skilled at mixing very different flavors together to create one-of-a-kind dishes. Everything was very fresh- they make their own cheez and offer items like zucchini bacon. The owner is super kind and awesome! I will definitely be back.

Too Many Politics - Edit
I visited the location in Phoenix and used to love it until they got all political and they started supporting "defund the police." Now, I won't ever go back. Very disappointing.

Disappointing - Edit
I wanted to love this place. I am a big fan of supporting vegan businesses but this one let me down.
Read moreMy husband and I went in for dinner after a long day out and they were out of nearly everything on their menu. More frustrating still, they didn't seem to know what they were out of and kept coming back to tell us there was more. I tried to order the mac and cheese and they were out of pasta. Several minutes after placing my order they came back to tell me that. I ordered something else but then was told that they could make pasta, but it would be 15 minutes.
My mom worked in the restaurant industry her whole life and I spent years working in it as well. A well-run establishment anticipates its needs. These folks seem to need to get it together.
On top of that, their desert case was almost completely empty. Several folks walked in while we were there looking for desserts and were disappointed.
Having no previous experience here, perhaps they were having a very off day, but I wish it didn't have to be come my bad day as well.

Sadly, this place is closing in a few days. This only happened at the end that it was so poorly managed.

Love this place - Edit
Great creative menu and fantastic pancakes. We ordered a couple smoothies, they were good, not great, but the pancakes were killer, we order another set of them after eating all of our original order. The zucchini "bacon" was also killer, could eat that all day. Also had the gluten free vegan brownies, and they were excellent!

Health food - Edit
We had lunch while passing through town. The staff was very nice and the menu sounds awesome. Unfortunately, we had a basic misunderstanding. We thought we were at a delicious vegan comfort food type restaurant, not a healthy food restaurant. We should have realized when the provided drinking water that was green. It had alfalfa in it to boost immunity? There is nothing wrong with that, but that was not what we were looking for. As a result, we were generally disappointed with all 3 entrees and 2 appetizers the 2 of us shared. They all sounded great. They just did not match our expectations. If you are looking for health food disguised as junk food in a nice environment with nice people. This is the place. If you are looking for delicious, decedent, vegan junk food, keep looking.

This place is awesome! - Edit
We ordered a Coffee Shake #1, the sweet potato quiche, Mac and Cheese and Nori rolls all of which were excellent! I was extremely impressed with the delicious and clean taste of everything. We spoke with the owner Keith for a moment who was very personable and friendly. We really appreciated hearing that he prefers to use vegan vendors as well and doesn’t source from farmers who also send animals to slaughter. Keep it up Keith! Next time we’re in town we’ll definitely be stopping at Whyld Ass.

Heavenly! - Edit
The food was absolutely amazing. I had the Breakfast Burrito - every bite was so delicious, I wanted to savor it forever. It was a lot of food so I had to get a couple bakery items to go. We ate them for breakfast the next couple days – lemon biscuits (melt in your mouth, bright, sweet and so yummy) and sweet potato bread (2 days old yet still really moist, fresh and delish). Affordable, filling, nutritious and so, so, so good! If you are within a couple hours of Flagstaff, do yourself a favor and make the trip! I am already dreaming/scheming how I can get back there.

Recent trip to Sedona and Grand Canyon took us through Flagstaff. What an incredible vegan find. We had the Nachos, Grilled Cheese and the Baked Falafel Wrap. Everything was as incredible as it sounded on the menu. Highly recommend this place. Curry chickpea salad is a must try for the sides.

Interesting eats - Edit
Been here a handful of times now and although it is not my favorite as far as the food portions for price and the sometimes miss on flavors, it's worth a trip to experience it for yourself. They are amazingly creative with their dishes. Also making coffees, desserts, and pastries. Worth a try.

So Good, We Did it Twice! - Edit
Visit #1- Dinner
Read moreEverything on the menu looked so good, but we had to limit ourselves so nothing would go to waste. The mac and cheese appetizer was amazing, the cheese panini and tomato bisque was the definition of comfort food, the big ass burrito was big and delicious, the biscuits and gravy are indeed the best ever, the Vietnamese sandwich (forgot the name…) was tasty, and the three desserts were out of this world!
Visit #2 - Dessert
We had lunch at another excellent establishment in Flagstaff, but the desserts from WHyld Ass were calling to us. We answered the call and were rewarded with some of the most delicious sweet things we’ve ever eaten.
Hint #1: Go eat here!
Hint #2: Go often!

Hit and miss - Edit
Nice little café and restaurant with great decor and eclectic music. Some of the food here is delicious, some not so much. Get the grilled cheese and tomato bisque, or the nachos, both are delightful. Wash it down with a "noggin" smoothie (it tastes like eggnog) and try the cheesecake for dessert, it doesn't quite taste like cheesecake but it's good. I tried their in house black bean tempeh and, while it's mostly good you occasionally get a whiff of something rancid vinegary. The staff can be validation seeking at times but on the plus side they're attentive.
Read morePros: Attentive staff , Was open when other places were closed , Nice display case of baked goods and sweets

Overall ok - Edit
Being from out of town where we have a lot of vegan options, this place turned out to be okay.
Read moreI think we were served by a new server. My husband wanted a grilled cheese and tomato bisque. He was told he could have an extra side, so he got chips and guac...only to find out that the included side was supposed to be the soup. We had to then order soup separately. Frustrating for my husband, who didn’t care for his sandwich (my son liked it, though) and had to wait for his soup.
I ordered a po’boy, and I was reminded of how much I don’t like tempeh. I switched out for a BLTA, which can they kindly accommodated. The bacon is made out of roasted zucchini—good, but there was a lot of avocado and not much zucchini bacon (which had all the flavor).
My kids had the basil mac and cheese (basically tastes like a pesto with caramelized onions) and they seemed to enjoy it.
Got moose tracks and snickerdoodles to go. The cookies were good.
Overall, not the best experience. The server did honor his mistakes, thank you. The food was just okay. All comes out to a three star experience for us.

Unique offerings - Edit
They offer sunflower milk in their lattes, so I had to try it. I don’t know if it’s my favorite. You can definitely taste the sunflower seed element. But it frothed up incredibly and I love trying new things. A few more of those and I might be sold! 😂👍🏻

Good food - Edit
You can tell everything is made from scratch here. They make their own sunflower milk which they use in the coffee drinks, buckwheat pancakes were good (very dense), bisquits and gravy was really flavorful. Bisquit was a little dry, but I haven't found a vegan bisquit that wasn't. I can say that the Chai tea was prolly the worst we've ever tried, but it may have been made wrong and we didn't say anything to the server. My fiance gets Chai wherever we go, and we know that it can spicy, but it honestly tasted like she dumped a whole tablespoon of cinnamon, clove and nutmeg into some steamed milk. Maybe it's not always like that, but it was the only bad part of our experience.
