amazing selection of ready-to-eat food

I was starved and in the area, so thought I'd give them a try. Lots of options in the buffet bars, the deli counter, and fridge section - even vegan pumpkin cheesecake by the slice! I couldn't choose so I had a deli employee who was vegan make me her favorite sandwich- grilled field roast multi-grain with avocado and veggies and added a cup of white bean and kale soup for $1! Loved every bite :-)

Pros: quick, friendly staff, great selection

Cons: a bit pricey

The best WF!

I came here looking for dinner and some fruit for my hotel room, and was amazed at how well stocked this location is. They have vegan options I haven't seen at other locations before, like vegan tofu mousse and vegan cake parfaits. They have four lanes of hot food/salad bar, which is double what my home location has. They carry all of the vegan salad dressings for the salad bar at this location as well.

Pros: Well stocked, Close to the convention center

Cons: Expensive.

Large Selection of Vegan Items

While can be spendy, this location was a great find as I wanted some harder to find energy drinks. They currently have some specials and if you are a Prime member you may get some additional savings.

I found a vegan ice cream sammie and it’s close to the convention center for travelers here on business! Would recommend for mornings or getting snacks for the road!

Whole Foods in the City

This is one of the busiest Whole Foods I have ever visited. We shopped at 6 pm on a Sunday, and the place was hopping. There were easily 8 self-checkout lines in use, plus several full-service lines in use. The store is large with an odd-shaped floor plan. In spite of the late hour, we were able find plenty of vegan prepared-food options including tofu-filled spanakopita.

Pros: Large, Plenty of vegan options , Well-run

One of the best Whole Foods

Huge lunch bar area. Lots of good options to eat here. Though no NextLevel burger like the Roosevelt store.

Nice deli area

We often eat at Whole Foods while traveling because their salad/hot bar/deli areas are usually pretty good with vegan options. This Whole Foods was ridiculously busy when we went, but they had nice vegan options in the deli including multiple Indian dishes, fried tofu, and amazing samosas (I should have just got like 5 samosas and skipped the rest).

Whole Foods everywhere needs to do a better job of labeling their foods - sometimes the tags say vegan, sometimes not (even if the ingredients imply that it *is* vegan). At least they post ingredients.

We also got vegan cookies from the bakery, which never disappoint!

Pros: it's whole foods, indoor and outdoor seating areas, vegan options

Cons: busy, expensive

Mostly great.

First of all, I love Whole Foods. The fact that this location serves fresh juices and smoothies is just awesome. I was disheartened, however, when I went in the other day and my boyfriend tried to get a salad from the salad bar. All of their cardboard containers were stuck together and we ripped about three of them in the process of trying to get them apart. When we mentioned this to an employee they seemed apathetic and so we decided to just eat lunch somewhere else. The trip prior to this one I ordered a juice and coffee from their bar and the entire staff in that area just looked/acted so grumpy and miserable. Strange. I will still go back to this location if I am in the area, but the customer service leaves something to be desired...which is surprising for this wonderful company.

Pros: Lots of options. , Clean., Lots of seating.

Cons: Can have poor customer service at times.

ALL THE KOMBUCHA!!!!!

My husband and I went in here on a mission. To find all the weird vegan food we have only heard about but isn't available in Canada. The only thing we didn't find was ABC cookies. That's ok though, because they had such an insane amount of vegan food I kinda checked out for awhile because I was in heaven.
Chocolate almond bites with ice cream in the middle? Check!
Locally made vegan donuts in the bulk baking area? Check!
Make your own bulk salad bar? Check!
All the kombucha I could ever want including a localish brewed brand? A bajillion check!
We wound up buying 5 different flavours of kombucha and a bunch of vegan snack/junk food which we promptly devoured back in our hotel room. I even went back again just so I could get more of the Portland brewed Brew Dr. Kombucha. The spicy apple was a flavour I couldn't get enough of. I WILL BE BACK! HIDE YOUR KOMBUCHA!

Pros: Vegan treats I could only dream of, Kombucha brands I've never heard of, Ice cream bites?!?!?!?!

Cons: Didn't have ABC cookies, Not in Edmonton

Best Whole Foods - Super Vegan Bakery

This is a really nice brand new Whole Foods. Its laid out so nicely. Their bakery baked up fresh Vegan items daily and they have MIGHTY-O Donuts both in their fresh baked glass area and prepackaged. The vegan selection in all the rows is pretty great, except they only have a few vegan cheeses.
