Good options as a grocery store...not as a deli

They are always out of Tempeh and never have any sandwiches (let alone vegan sandwiches) pre-made. They also will work the deli case while making your sandwich and slice meat while your sandwich is toasting, speaking from personal experience here. The TTLA is good but easy enough to make at home. Also, I am used to the PNW Whole Foods that has a breakfast bar and vegan options but not only does this WF not have a breakfast Bar, out of the 4 breakfast Sandwiches they pre-make not even one is vegan. TLDR; only go if you have no other options and you are not in a rush as they take forever.

Pros: Amazon Prime Discount

Specialty products

Whole Foods is too expensive for me to do my normal grocery shopping here, however they have a large variety of vegan products that aren't stocked in other Reno stores. Their house brand 365 has all sorts of specialty products like vegan parmesan cheese and whipped cream. The produce section is always fully stocked. They have all sorts of hot food options for vegans, as well as prepared foods in the refrigerator section that are great for grab and go. Layout of the store is confusing and makes items hard to find!

Now that Amazon owns Whole Foods not a good option for Vegans

My spouse and I used to love Whole Foods, excited to eat at the salad bar and warm food section and shop for vegan foods. However, having just returned there since Amazon took over (we had been out of the country) we were sorely disappointed. I could not even choose the salad bar since it was primarily meat and the vegan options such as Asian tofu and other products were nowhere to be found. In addition, to shop for vegan options such as alternative meats and cheeses were reduced to one to two options which were out of the way and hard to find. We will stop choosing Whole Foods as our go-to place. It is unfortunate as veganism increases in popularity that Whole Foods would become less attractive to people wanting to buy vegan products. Thankfully, there are great other places to eat to shop and we will be doing just that.

Cons: No longer good for vegans, Too many Amazon products like Echo and so forth

Great hot breakfast options, no hot lunch options

The vegan scramble and roasted potatoes are delicious for breakfast although they had absolutely no hot lunch options that were vegan other than soup.

Pros: good for breakfast

Cons: bad for lunch

Just what I needed

Whole Foods Market gets a good deal of my dinner-on-the-road business. Sometimes I just don't feel like being "that guy" alone at a restaurant. It is so great to walk into a WFM and choose from all that hot, prepared food, gourmet salad bar, bakery and several specialty kitchens. They also have an amazing selection of beers, ales and other exotic beverages from all over the world.

Reno is not exactly veg-paradise. In fact there is only one place listed in Reno and it has a bad reputation for being nasty to folks who aren't radical enough.. or something. I know those kinds of hipster dives from my travels and I just was in no mood to deal with that scene... or their cash-only policy. Earth to Pnuematic, many vegetarian folks transit your city with credit cards and expense accounts. Lighten up? Smile?

Another great thing about this Whole Foods is that Sierra Trading Post outlet is right next door. Check out their website. The outlet sells super premium outdoor clothes and dress clothes, mostly from Europe. The outlet prices are good and it is definitely worth a visit, since it is right next door.

Pros: Great Selection, Dependable Quality, Next to STP Outlet

Cons: A bit expensive

Love this place

I can get anything I want here... problem is.. I want everything.. but they have what I need on my VERY restricted diet... and the service is great ... they will special order anything... AND I can check my email while I shop.... I just wish they would not have so many tempting yummy things.. and that it does not cost half my paycheck whenever I go... but.. I love em
