I come here out of necessity

Not a Whole Foods fan at all, but they've got vegan croissants, vegan scones, and solid vegan pizza. Things you really can't find anywhere else. What else can you do but stop in every now and then?

What really bothers me about this place, other than being owned by Amazon and all that goes along with that, is that their vegan pizza is only rarely sold by the slice. You never know before coming in if you're going to be able to get a slice of their vegan za.

Mistakes and unhygienic practices

Because of the pandemic and the fact that I am an ICU nurse who works directly with patients that have COVID-19, I tried to use the grocery pickup option through my Amazon Prime account. This is supposed to be safer than going into the grocery store and more efficient/convenient for the customer. Even though I checked in through the app and gave the employee my photo ID, I was given the wrong order. This is not immediately obvious since it is given in closed paper bags.

When I got home I had 5 missed calls because they realized they had given me someone else's order. I had already got home and opened the bags. They expected me to bring all of those items back after I had brought them into my own home so they could give it to the other customer. I do keep everything clean but I would hate to be that person who got their food that had already been handled by another person. This is not even mentioning the fact I had to repack everything and drive back to the grocery store. There is no point in offering pickup services for convenience and safety if this is how it is done by this store.

Tons of options

This is a grocery store but they have self serve hot and cold food as well as açaí bowls, chia pudding self-serve bar, made to order sushi and sandwiches, and pizza. Got some food from the self serve area, I liked most of the hot foods I tried (tons of plant based options) but did not like the cold food. It’s a little on the expensive side too

Pros: Lots of vegan options

Cons: Expensive

Convenient Store

Whole Foods Market provides lots of food options for locals.

Pros: Vegan options, Eating space outside the store, Easy to see from the street

Cons: Overwhelming with processed food options, Does not make its own nut milk at the juice sector, Needs more raw vegan food deli to-go options

beautiful produce, booze bar, delicious food

Right off the freeway this is a beautiful whole foods that's easy pass by but being in a shopping center there are few other access points to get there. Ample parking. It's large and has a nice seating area in front for people to dine in. There are beers on tap (nice spacious sunny bar facing the eating area), daily and weekly specials, hot/cold food bars, and now even a small vegan donut stand! Half dozen for $5.50. If I hadn't just stopped by the Donuttery also in Huntington Beach, I would have bought some (maybe next time). They looked great, but only the cake variety so far, not the array that is growing in vegan markets. For specials, I brought home the $1 vegan enchiladas and thought they were great despite being nuked later.
I do like the little signs they have with the "local" mantra, grown or made here in xyz, california. One example is a non-dairy cheese company with the little intro placed there for you to read.
Very whole food-y, very pleasant, a great place to shop when I'm in the area

Pros: open and comfortable, variety , vegan options

Cons: still whole food prices :)
