Pub standards with vegan options - Edit
The White Hart is a cosy spot near the town centre and cathedral with plenty of nooks and crannies to squirrel yourself away in for a drink or meal as well as a tucked away outside courtyard ‘secret garden’. Staff are friendly and service is prompt but not rushed. I went for dinner with a non-veg partner and there were multiple options for both of us. There is also a veggie option for the Sunday roast. I had the lasagne (about £7) with extra chips (another £2), though the mushroom pie and buffalo cauliflower starter also sounded tempting. It was fine, though the filling was not abundant and tasted quite celery-heavy. I will go back and try the pie another time, although it’s a shame they can’t manage a vegan gravy to accompany it. Overall a relaxed and reasonable pub meal in a pleasant setting.
