Tasty scones, very nice cats - Edit
Me and GC finally got a booking for a cat cafe, we booked the vegan afternoon tea.
Read moreThe cafe had an issue with their freezer and we're using a neighbors one which also stopped working so they had to make do with what they had.
The highlight food wise were the scones, they were freshly made and very nice.
I liked the cucumber sandwich but the other sandwiches were very strange, basil and something I have no idea what maybe tahini and cheese and some kind of chutney I think.
The dessert part was 3 pieces each, a nutty flapjack with glitter, a millionaires shortcake with a cat sugar sweet and a rocky road piece with cream on top.
I didn't like the flapjack or the millionaires shortcake, but the rocky road was quite nice.
I wish we had known that the freezer was a problem as I would have held off going to this one even to get better desserts.
Not much you can do but roll with it really. Also at least at the time of review they don't add the paw print stamp to drinks anymore :/
The place has a very relaxed and quiet atmosphere and the staff were friendly.
The cats were very nice, they were mostly sleeping besides a few greedy chaps looking for scraps when we arrived.
I got to pet most of them and GC got all of them I think, great experience there.
Not sure if I'd go again but I liked it and I have confirmed I definitely want a mainecoon :)

Gorgeous cats - Edit
We decided to try the vegan afternoon tea. It's £30 per person, and includes a hot drink of your choice and 90 minutes with the cats.
Read more* The receptionist explained that their fridge and freezer have both broken so they're currently using one on a shop down the road, but because of that the cakes aren't up to the usual standard. I have tried to bear that in mind for this review. *
I mostly enjoyed the afternoon tea. I didn't really enjoy two of the sandwich flavours. The cucumber and cream cheese one was delicious, but the other two were a bit odd to me. One was I think some sort of hummus and basil leaves, and the other was cheese and an Indian tasting chutney. I didn't think the flavours of these worked very well in the sandwiches at all. Also, the bread felt a little bit tough, so it didn't seem incredibly fresh. If the sandwiches were better I'd have happily given them a 4 star rating.
The scones were delicious. The receptionist bakes them herself and they were warm when served to us. I really enjoyed these with the butter, jam, and cream that were served with them.
The cakes were also very nice. The millionaires shortcake was nice, I think it was Lazy Day brand. The lemon flapjack was also nice. The rocky road was amazing!
For my hot drink I chose everyday tea with oat milk, and I tried some of Purp's oat latte as well. Both were very nice.
The cats were absolutely gorgeous, and seemed healthy and well cared for. The staff ensure that you understand the rules before you're allowed to interact with the cats, and there is always at least one staff member present so customers are never alone with the cats.
I'd definitely go here again, but I wouldn't bother with the afternoon tea, I'd just get a scone and a cup of tea.
Pros: Beautiful cats, Delicious scones, Lovely staff
Cons: Sandwiches weren't great
