Obsessed

I order the doner snack box at least once a month, also the chilli sauce and garlic mayo are insane. Big portions as well

great place

amazing food, had the vegan doner kebab with chips it had colourful veg and meat-like chunks, not sure what they but it was great. they were very helpful and knowledgeable when asked about allergies. one of the best meals i’ve had, even my meat-eater dad enjoyed it.

Vegan Lunch for 2

📌 @whatthepitta

•VEGETARIAN/VEGAN RESTAURANT•

Taste: 🤤🤤🤤🤤/5
Value: ££ - Reasonable

🌱 CHICK’N GYROS
💰: £8.95
💭: they use THIS Isn’t Chicken pieces! You also get to choose which sauce to be added. I have never had a gyro before (meat or vegan), and for my first ever gyro it was pretty elite. I got the vegan garlic mayonnaise sauce. I went back for a second one a day later and got a chilli sauce, however, this wasn’t like a sweet chilli sauce that I had stupidly expected so I was not a fan. Other than this, it was great!
🤷🏽‍♀️: Order again? Yes
🏆 - Fav Dish

🌱 DÖNER SNACK BOX
💰: £7.95
💭: Top tier scran, since going vegan i’ve missed a donner kebab and this is the closest thing i’ve ever had. Spicy donner pieces in a sauce with chips what more can you want from a greasy hangover food
🤷🏽‍♀️: Order again? Yes

🌱 ONION RINGS
💰: £3.50
💭: they were okay, quite average. They weren’t crispy but rather soft
🤷🏽‍♀️: Order again? No

🌱 CHICK’N NUGGETS
💰: £3.95
💭: these were okay, but I didn’t manage to finish them as the gyros were stuffing themselves. I wouldn’t be rushing back to get them, may be because I am not a personal of chicken nuggets
🤷🏽‍♀️: Order again? No

📝: this was a great find in Boxpark. I had never been to a Boxpark before and it definitely did not disappoint. There were lots of vegan options in all of them but the gyros looked the best. The paprika chips were lovely, but wish there was more paprika. Definitely worth a visit

Delicious Gyros meat!

This is my second visit to a What The Pitta and I went for the same meal as last time – Doner Gyros with Chick’n Nuggets. The Gyros meat was amazing once again, but as with the last time, I found it a bit salad heavy, I would’ve preferred more of a balance of fillings, but it was still very tasty. The Chick’n nuggets were also hot & tasty!

Pros: Amazing Gyros meat, Tasty nuggets

Cons: Wrap had too much salad

Really great options for vegans and non vegans

Really enjoyed this, different vegan style food, will definitely return to try more options. Quite pricey compared to a non-vegan kebab but that is to be expected in box park I think!

Pros: Really great kebabs

Cons: Quite pricey, nuggets quite dry

Best gyros in London

I’ve had many a gyros in Greece (pre vegan) and this matches up to those and some!

The flavours in the wraps are incredible and each element is done to perfection. Took me back to holidays in the sunshine.

Pros: Flavours are incredible, Tastes like being on holiday, Easy to order

Cons: Slightly watery garlic Mayo

sadly it was a real let down after looking forward to this for a long time

we got some food delivered to our hotel as we were staying overnight nearby but sadly the food took a while to get there and the order was wrong but we were so hungry we ate it, it wasn't well wrapped/presented and falling apart and difficult to eat and i ordered a falafel specifically but had bits of the soya meat in it too which i didn't want, and there was no mixed kebab on the menu we contacted them and they refunded us however i wouldn't return here

Pros: vegan, delivery

Cons: poor quality, wrong order, very spicy

Some of the best vg kebabs out there

It’s tradition to have a WTP when we visit London/Brighton and for a good reason. It’s just lovely.

Pros: All vegan , Utterly delightful

Cons: Pretty expensive

incredibly full but would go back

I ordered the Vegan Döner, Fries and Nuggets. It came to £15.40 which is probably a little too expensive. I came home and ate a little over half of the döner. I’ve been here before and I can’t believe I forgot to ask them to cut it in half and ate so much of it 😳, the döner is great as always but i do wanna say that this time it was a little salty, it was very filling so i put it down and went to sleep. I would recommend to always get it cut in half, share with someone or eat one half when you can and then the second half, hours later (keep it somewhere safe obviously).

The nuggets were really nice, last time I got too many pieces and it was too much so I got less this time and it was so much better. Know your portion sizes because sometimes getting the maximum portion size at this place is not great (or once again save it for later) The fries have also improved and are really nice.

The staff are very friendly but because I was wearing a mask (COVID) the person who made my food didn’t hear me tell them i wanted to order it to go, I asked the food to be bagged up and they told me to make sure to tell them so they can prepare. I think the music playing loudly in Boxpark didn’t help. This doesn’t knock any points off of the staff or the food everything was great.

I’m gonna go back to the one in Shoreditch on Monday (and take photos this time) and see how they do. Definitely try this place! As a Vegan, it’s been a long time favourite of mine.

Pros: Good Quality, Freshly made to order, Fast

Cons: Döner too filling

Would love a wheat free option!

Tried the most talked about doner kebab at Vegan Life Live in London. Being a life long vegetarian turned vegan, I am always a little wary about trying mock meat dishes (personal thing). However due to the hype my sister and I felt compelled to give it a go. And we were not disappointed. It was very tasty! I believe they use seitan hence would be delighted if they could introduce a wheat-free option as well.

Vegan Kebab - say no more

Friends ordered this as a take out and I’m basing this review purely on my experience of that. Very tasty and very similar to the real deal... very generous portions too. I think a meat eater would be hard pressed to tell the difference. I will visit the location and post updated reviewing the future.

Pros: Authentic Doner Kebab

excellent vegan kebab !

Just tried the vegan kebab - delicious! Kebab is a good size with plenty of filling; soya-meat pieces, vegetables, sauces - and the great big green pepper! Opted for the hot-chilli sauce as I like it with a kick. Price is perhaps slightly expensive but so tasty it's worth it. Vegan kebab costs 8 quid, or you can get a meal deal for a tenner which includes a drink and baklava (also good). Next time I am in Croydon I will definitely have another kebab - delicious!

Pros: lots of filling, very tasty, seating area in Box Park

Would definitely go back

My friend and I had vegan döner from here and really enjoyed it. The döner is made from soya and very good but very salty. It’s very flavourful and works well with the lettuce and especially the garlic mayo and chilli sauce but I don’t think it needs to be this salty. I think next time I’d try the falafel wrap instead.
The place has meal deals that can include drinks, baklava or ice cream (booja booja or Ben and Jerry’s I think)

Pros: all vegan, dessert option, full of flavour

Cons: döner ‘meat’ is very salty

Healthy pittas wraps and "doner" options.

WTP do a limited range of variations on the same theme of soya meat and falafel with salad and or chips. Thye do it well. The service is quick and the portions adequate. The Boxpark venue is annoying, its noisey and people are eating meat at the same table but that depends on your own sensibilities. There are no dessert options. The price is reasonable for London.

Is it really NOT MEAT?

I stopped eating 4 times to double, triple and QUADRUPLE check that it really was vegan!! The doner is amazing, and as much as I don't miss meat, I craved fast food today, and this satisfied that craving.

Vegan Doner Kebab was a real tasty treat!

Wow! Every bite was delicious and tasty beyond comprehension. The size of the Doner kebab was really substantial and more than worth it for the relatively inexpensive price. This place does not disappoint and it would be advisable to come with an empty stomach as you will be coming back for more servings! We will definitely pay this place a second visit....... if not more visits in the near future.
