Pretty disappointing - Edit
They fry their tofu in the same fryer as the meat- so the katsu isn't vegan. The vegan burger (which is already more expensive than their other burgers) does not include the vegan bun (which is a $1 upcharge) so it ends up being a $23 or so impossible burger with lettuce... Weird. Pretty bland

Insulting to vegans - Edit
It feels like this brewery has it out for vegans. They had a tofu dish, fried cauliflower wings, and impossible burger, which all used animal products. The tofu and cauliflower both are battered in buttermilk. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!? 🤬. Who tf is this for? The chef is vegan, too. Sellout. I don’t know how he lives with himself.

Actually “The Buffalo” - Edit
The restaurant part of the Westbound & Down is called “The Buffalo” There aren’t any clearly labeled options (besides a bun) I believe they still have the impossible meat but it’s only labeled to sub on one option, so if you go it’s worth asking about. Buffalo tempeh was good and the bar tender knew exactly what vegan was and how to help. The French fries are *not* vegan. They are pre-battered and the batter contains milk. Chip and Salsa is vegan and can be had as a side option instead of the fries.

Pretty good bar food - Edit
Husband had BBQ cauliflower wings that were pretty good. They also have a Jackfruit BBQ sandwich that can be made vegan with an apple cider vinegar slaw instead of the regular (mayo based). Salads are large and can be made vegan by removing cheese. Note: fries and cauliflower wings are not gluten free and the gluten free bun contains egg.

Buffalo Tempeh - Edit
The buffalo tempeh wrap was hearty and delicious (substituted avocado for slaw). Great location across from Echos Hippy Shop.

Good choice for a small town - Edit
For some reason they have a vegan bun, but no longer have an Impossible Burger. We both had the Buffalo Tempeh Wrap. The Buffalo coating and slaw wasn't vegan, so they modified it with apple cider vinegar instead. It was pretty good, but definitely not a Buffalo sauce flavor we wanted. Next time, I'll try the jackfruit BBQ sandwich.

Pros: Good knowledge of what vegan is, Beer

Two veg options to make vegan - Edit
I was grateful that the server was aware that the cauliflower wings were not vegan and the two vegetarian items, the buffalo tempeh wrap and the jackfruit sandwich, could both be made vegan but but were vegetarian as is. It was pricy. $19 for the pulled jackfruit sandwich and salad due to up charging for a vegan bun

Didn't follow my vegan request - Edit
I ordered the impossible burger with the vegan bun, and told them to make the burger vegan by leaving off any non-vegan toppings. The server seemed confused and suggested a salad, because apparently vegans only eat salads??? Then he couldn't even name any vegan dressings to go on the salad. When he finally accepted that I was ordering the burger, he told me the unami sauce isn't vegan and would be left off. When my burger came, the unami sauce was on the side in a little plastic cup.

Great Lunch - Edit
We split the bbq tempeh wrap. Both were excellent. We informed the server that we were vegan and she adjusted our order. Put a vinegar slaw in the wrap and gave us a vegan bun.

Appreciate the I70 stop - Edit
Got the cauliflower wings and impossible burger with a side salad. The salad dressing was amazing and the Unami sauce in the burger was amazing. Only critique was burger wasn’t pink Inside. Otherwise great location and a very helpful wait staff who knew what was vegan.
