Elegant vegan dining - Edit
This restaurant is fantastic. It has the atmosphere of a classic venue ... but the food could not be more "modern." The best of both worlds. In particular I was blown away by the emphasis on vegan. The chef/maître d' is also most fascinating. He is dedicated to veganism, so I am disappointed that Happy Cow's policy does not permit a fifth star just because the establishment is not exclusively vegetarian.

Fine dining, vegan friendly - Edit
The vegan dishes were perfectly prepared and presented, and nutritious without all that processed stuff you typically find at a vegan restaurant.
Read moreUnfortunately the options on the menu are not clearly labeled as vegan, which brought on my personally dreaded moment of asking for clarity. The reality turned out to be that the ingredients are all clearly listed, and the owner is a vegan, so if it looks probably vegan, it surely is.
The owner treated myself and my husband really well, as he is a vegan and cares deeply about spreading the word and serving high quality dishes.
The owner clearly knows his regulars and loves his restaurant. It feels friendly and comfortable to be there.
Pros: Nutritious, no processed "replacements", Classy atmosphere, Friendly environment
Cons: Pricey, but not unreasonable , Vegan items not clearly labeled

Upscale restaurant owned by vegan - Edit
There are several vegan appetizers and one pasta entree on the regular menu. The specials frequently include one or more vegan options. The night we visited, the soup du jour was vegan but there were no entree specials. The owner (who us vegan) brought out the chef (who used to work at a vegan restaurant), who offered to modify their shrimp curry dish. It had a tofu tempura and was really very good. We are not in the area frequently but would definitely come back.

Excellent food and friendly staff - Edit
Upscale restaurant with a few Vegan options. The owner is vegan and would like to bring in more vegans which would encourage more options. Owner and staff are very friendly and personable. The food was excellent. I highly recommend this restaurant.
