Very decent option in Tiel - Edit
I posted a review a while ago, but it got deleted for some reason, so here I go again. I was quite excited when I found out the restaurant inside my local garden centre also catered to vegans. Tiel has close to no vegan establishments, so I usually get my lunch fix elsewhere.
Read moreThe interior of the restaurant is very neat and modern, yet cozy. You have to pay a 75 cent upcharge for oat milk, which I find to be on the high end, but at least you can get all of the coffee options. There are 2 completely vegan dishes on the menu, but when you ditch the mayo the fries are a must get. The vegan options are a flammkuchen (thin German “pizza”) and a salad, but they have the same toppings. Nevertheless, the flavour is really nice and it’s definitely not what non-vegan places usually offer. I have nothing against a falafel wrap or avocado toast, but really appreciate it when places pleasantly surprise me. Overall, I’d most certainly recommend checking this place out if you’re in the neighbourhood, but I never make a detour for a non-vegan spot.
Pros: Tasty, More creative vegan option(s).
Cons: M!lk upcharge, The open kitchen (preparation of bacon and such).
