Decent Variety of Options

Wegmans has really been stepping up their game concerning the variety of plant based options available for cooking and in general groceries. I did not give 4 stars since this is not a place I would choose for a quick meal due to not many fast options in the prepared section.

Pros: Clearly labeled when vegan, Specific plant based aisles

Cons: Could improve the salad bar

Their hoagies make me sad

I love veggie hoagies, but it is a personal pet peeve of mine that vegans pay the same as meat eaters at every single restaurant. Wegmans is no exception to this, and what is extra frustrating is while some places will give you extra veggies to at least somewhat help with the fact you aren't getting meat or cheese, 7/10 times Wegmans gives me the same amount of veggies which means I end up with a flat hoagie roll with almost nothing inside. Evey now and again I get someone who even acknowledges "let me throw some extra veggies in there for you because you didn't get any meat or cheese" but it seems to be rare. Worse, their hoagies are pretty pricey because the price includes a large amount of meat and cheese which makes it worth it for meat-eaters, but for me it feels like I am subsidizing them. I am further upset, because honestly, their hoagie rolls are AMAZING to die-for. The wasted potential of them not offering a cheaper vegan hoagie option is upsetting to me given how delicious it is.

The veggie sushi is also insanely expensive for what you get, sometimes 7-8 dollars just for avocado wrapped with some seaweed. The only positive is I have sometimes found a tofu sushi special for $5, but it is rare I see that.

They do have tofu side dishes and they seem to try to be vegan friendly, but much of what I have had is only meh or expensive, really I only like the hoagies, and I already mentioned my issues in that department.

Pros: Their hoagie rolls are amazing

Cons: Their hoagies are too expensive for vegans, Their sushi is too expensive, Other options like their loose tofu is only ok

Not a great deal of variety

Not a great deal of variety - basically a salad bar with 3 or 4 vegan options, these being typically of the "bean salad" variety.

Pros: Convenient, moderately priced

Cons: Not a lot of variety
