Falafel brilliant, meal salty - Edit
There’s no denying the falafel were 10/10. Nice looking store. I didn’t feel good after eating, everything was salty and there was nothing on the plate to offset it

Get the stuffed! - Edit
Easily the best falafels I've had to date; cooked perfectly and neither oily or dry.
Read moreThe stuffed falafel is next level tasty, albeit a touch pricey (1 for $5). The falafel salad is fresh, tasty and delicious but once you eat the top layer, the dressing can be a bit spicy! The wrap was quite good too.
The free taster falafel is a nice welcome!
Pros: Friendly staff, Fresh and tasty food, A fair amount of dine-in seating

Loved the falafel wrap I had. It was super fresh!

Light and fresh - Edit
LOVED the Special felafel pita pocket, which came with fried eggplant, and cauliflower. The felafels were crunchy, light, and tasty, and the salad ingredients were fresh.

Fresh falafels and great service - Edit
The best, freshest falafels and food you can get, and the friendliest staff too. They know how to treat customers and make you feel super welcome with a little delicious taste test as soon as you walk in. They clearly take great care and pride in what they do. All vegan too! Great place to grab something quick and healthy. Love it.

Didn't love it - Edit
Tried this place due the positive reviews. I got the falafel pocket with cauliflower and eggplant. Pita was nice and fresh. Falafel was average and not very crunchy. I think there are better options out there such as Tahina (up the road) and Very Good Falafel in Brunswick.

Pros: all vegan!, friendly staff, got a free 'taster' falafel upon arrival
Cons: could be crunchier and more flavour

Only problem is Tahina and VGF both deal in the products of animal abuse.

quit being the vegan police on this site. Not everyone is vegan. This is a vegan and vegetarian site. The world is not a perfect place. Not every cafe has to be vegan, not serve animal products or have vegan owners. Its fine you don't want to support those places but you are coming off as elite and holier than everyone else.

Actually it is a vegan site. I am choosing to highlight animal cruelty. I don’t pretend to be perfect at all but I’m not really concerned if you think that comes off as elitist. Don’t you think it is more elitist to treat veganism as some privileged dining lifestyle rather than a matter of animal liberation?

I think its a site to share where to get vegetarian and vegan food and not lecture/criticize people if the owner is not vegan e.g Shannon from Smith & Deli.

I can assure you it’s a vegan site. When you submit a photo there is a prompt to remind you that dishes can only be vegan. Equally you can report a photo that doesn’t meet this criterion. You’re tight it is not a site for randomly criticising people for not being vegan. However, this type of criticism may be more valid when a person has created their entire image around veganism and profits from this.

Nobody wants to feel shame for anything dingus, that's why animal abusers go so far out of their way to negate veganism. You have your own needs, defending animals is one of mine, if you feel shame then stop doing it. Obviously. And it's not an implication, it's an explanation, animal ag in modern civilization is unnecessary and violence for pleasure at another's expense it's the dictionary definition of not just bad, but evil. Thanks!

Let’s face it, @otherdimension, your own debating tactics, techniques of persuasion and general level of intellectual honesty and sincerity have been less than exemplary.

@otherdimension, I'm under no obligation to respect baby animal abusers and if I did my respect would be worthless. You wanna feel respected? Go vegan. I don't respect exploitation of the innocent.

Delicious felafels - Edit
Another lovely sunny day means a long walk and I love a felafel! I ordered a special felafel wrap while my partner ordered the special pit pockets. We were also given felafels when we walked in. They were tasty and soft. The wrap and the pita had really nice fillings. The flavours combined really well and it was filling. Great prices too.

Melbourne’s non-animal-abusing falafel joint - Edit
I made it here as quickly as I could to try out Melbourne’s first vegan falafel joint in years. I’m reserving judgement on the vegan credentials of the owners. The place was busy when we came at Sunday lunchtime but I scored a table. We lined up and looked at the wall menu, and I was handed a free sample of falafel and hummus as I approached the counter. We ordered a simple falafel wrap, a side of chips and the fatteh. Staff were friendly and accommodating and had no problem when I later changed my order and chose the falafel salad instead of the wrap. There was a bit of a wait because of how busy the place was. The fatteh looks like a dip but actually works as a dish in itself, although I was dipping chips and falafels in it. The toasted bread in the dish contributed to the variety of textures along with the chickpeas and almonds. I left the green chili at the end, as I often find them too intense. The salad was nice, but was served in a deep rather than wider and flatter bowl, and was difficult to combine without another plate to put it in. The falafels were delicious and soft with a lightly sweetish spice flavour and the dressing seemed to be a pleasing vinaigrette-tahini combination. The chips were golden and crispy as you’d want them. I plan to return regularly for an affordable meal at Northcote’s second place to eat and the only valid falafel joint in Melbourne.

I know the restaurant is completely plant-based but if the food truck is not that is a problem and my review does not apply. I’ll follow up.

I noticed someone had done a review of the food truck recently and noted it was all vegan. But I haven’t been so I don’t know.

It’s rather an easy interior, but the food is stunning. Everything is made from scratch: bread, hummus, falafel.
