Not consistent

I tried pretty much everything on the menu & whilst it’s tasty there needs adjustments. The Burmese salad needs the gotu cola leaves removed as it’s not authentic & tastes weird. The gotu cola salad is just boring add something to it apart from leaves. The pomelo salad could be amazing but needs texture & crunch, I don’t want burnt onions & pomelo only! The Moroccan rolls are good but very rich & the sauce doesn’t cut through that deep umami richness, also sometimes they are tiny or large? Same with the felafels sometimes they are good then sometimes they use an old mixture and it just tastes horrid. I’m not sure how they heat the bread but I’m pretty sure it’s microwaved as if you leave on the plate it goes hard & inedible around the sides. The mango smoothies are terrible, stop being cheap and getting unripe mangos, as they don’t use sugar the mangos need to be proper, the smoothie comes out barely yellow so I gave up with those. Pancakes are nice but more likely burned on one side and undercooked 90% of the time, coffee isn’t great. The fresh cous cous is nice with the soup. Shawarma mushroom pitta could be better as both times I ordered the pitta was warm but the mushroom cold indicating it was pre made. The yogurt fruit granola bowl is tasty but needs a sweetner added as it’s too bland, needs more selection of fresh juices. Pastas were clearly microwaved and rubbery the tomato sauce said it had olives and capers but was just tomato & the pesto isn’t pesto it’s a cream sauce of some kind which was vile. It’s quite expensive for Thailand but it takes time for the food to get there I suppose. The guys in the restaurant are lovely, the women who work here are the most miserable and inept people I’ve ever had the misfortune of encountering. If I had to sum it up it’s not a consistent restaurant, sometimes it tastes yummy sometimes we didn’t eat what we ordered due to it not being great. Most dishes were fried too so it would be nice to add some healthier options.

Pros: Israeli food nice as Israelis run it

Cons: Women staff rude & obnoxious , Too much fried food , Not consistent

Nice place

This is a nice place in a beautiful location. Staff is friendly. Food is good, but nothing to write home about. My cappuccino came out room temp, some might even be bold enough to say “cold”, which I didn’t love. I was also expecting a slightly bigger serving for the price.

Pros: Vegan options

Cons: Small portions, Expensive , Coffee came out cold

Good secluded place (a bit expensive)

The place is in a secluded beach. You can hike there (1.20 hours) or take a boat to reach the place. Ypu can't really swim because there are jellyfish everywhere.
But anyway, their vegan menu is pretty good, their coconut water is great and theirs weeks are also good.
A bit too expensive but that is OK!

Hello thank you for your review. We are under renovations and the menu is limited. Full menu Will return soon. As for the price we are an isolated beach with no roads and No power… come visit us when our new kitchen will be ready 🙏

Delicious food

The food and staff are great!! It’s a little hard to get to as we needed to go with a taxi boat through the next closest beach (Haad Rin) but it’s worth it.
The taxi picked us up after two hours which gave us enough time to enjoy the food and relax on the beach.

Pros: All vegan, Great staff

I heard a lot about the new cuisine at the restaurant on the beach but I never thought it will be so goood!
I will recommend - trying to taste all the menu! everything is amazing
Waiting to come back to the island and for sure Way Nam will be the first place I will visit.

Sitio relajante. Buena comida

Pros: Vegano, Lugar bonito y relajante , Personal amable

Cons: Coger el barco para llegar

Why not??

Worth the $20 boat rides or the two hour hike from Haad Rin, this fabulous cafe outshines the sun on the beach below. Love the smoothies, fantastic falafels, salads, pita sandwiches, vegan shakshuka, portions generous and most of the staff very friendly. Was concerned on my last visit when offered honey for iced-tea and nearly boycotted them but, clarified with the owner this was in fact coconut syrup and he made a point to correct his food servers of the distinction. Gorgeous food on a nice pretty beach.

We had quite a long and a bit complicated travel from the other side of the Island to the Restaurant but it was worth it! Such a nice location, 100 % vegan, many different options and everything was tasty!

Pros: Wonderful view on a small beach, Rich variety of different food, Small and hidden, created with love

Cons: Only accessible by boat (= both pro and con:-))

Next level vegan cookery!!

If you go to Koh Phangan then you need to make a trip to Why Nam beach. Stunning alcove on the east side of the Island which is only really accessible via a boat or 4x4 if you don't fancy the sometimes choppy sea voyage.
There is a lovely trek through the jungle to get there from Haad Rin but it will take you around 2 hours and it's definitely not one to do in flip flops!
The fact that it's not easily accessible definitely adds to the charm for me!

The restaurant and the people that run the place are the stars of the show, producing some next level vegan cooking!
I was lucky to sample several of their dishes and I was blown away by the level of presentation and depth of flavour. My favourites were the cauliflower bombs and the eggplant dish but I enjoyed it all, especially the desserts and the ice-cream!
I really want to go back and try all their breakfast dishes, infact I want to try everything!

Loved the vibe there, it's all very chilled and the staff are great, super friendly! Lovely comfortable eating area where you sit on the floor on big cushions looking out onto the beach. They have accommodation there as well if you want to stay which I'm sure you will!

It's a difficult place to leave for sure, can't wait to go back!

Pros: 100% vegan menu, Beautiful location

Cons: You have to leave at some point!

Heavenly!!!

Why Nam is one of a kind restaurant and resort. I spend 3 weeks there and had an opportunity to taste almost everything on the menu. There was not one dish I didn't like. One creation was better than the other and there were new dishes created weekly. Absolute foodie dream land. Also a big shout out to a brilliant management team that works tirelessly to elevate guests experience and making sure the staff is cared for and happy. There is something magical about Why Nam but to know what that it, you must try it for yourself. Go - you will be very happy!

Pros: yummy, nourishing and tasty food, Supper friendly and happy staff, romantic getaway

Everything is so delicious, i never know what to choose!

The restaurant is 100% vegan and healthy and based on whole foods (no fake meats or other processed foods you can often find in vegan restaurants). The menu is Mediterranean inspired and very creative. It is so rare to go to a restaurant and be able to eat everything on the menu when you are vegan, let alone to love everything on the menu!! I highly recommend the food. The staff and ambience there are also truly magical. My non vegan friends love the food too and often forget that they are eating vegan. Not to be missed!

Pros: 100% vegan menu, Creative yet healthy dishes, Great staff

Remarkable combination of vegan passion and creativity in what seems like the middle of nowhere

Arrived by boat and warmly greeted by staff and diners alike (in spite of having a slightly nosy and possessive dog with me😄).

Very nicely isolated in its own cove and situated on the beach with a clean, organic and cosy ambience.

The food had a lot of variety and fusion of a few different cuisines and demonstrates how complete a plant-based meal can be (looking at the 'shawarma' in particular I would not have thought it was plant-based if I had seen it in a random restaurant).

Considering the quality of the food and location I think the prices are very reasonable.

Pros: Compassionate and passionate plant-based refuge, Ambience and location, Food value and variety

Feeling home in paradise

Waynam restaurant it's located in a very special place, remote and sometimes not easy to reach... Which it makes it even more special. It's the right place to be if you want to step away from everything, it's the right place
to be if you want to meet people with a great energy.
All the waynam crew is there to make everything happen in the most smoothly and synchronized way. Everything is cured in detail. Great atmosphere and lovely people.
The restaurant has a perfect ballance selection of offers on their menu: from salads and healthy soups to the most delicious meatless burgers and rich smoothies recepies. Generous portion will always satisfied you. Coffee it's also good!!😄
I am so happy I found this place, it's a good gift to give to yourself, take sometime to spend there, it's so nice that you would almost want to keep it for yourself.

My favourite dishes so far : heaven plate, laab Mou tofu, Vietnamese rools. French fries are also great😄
All vegan!

Pros: Atmosphere, Food quality, Hospitality and comfort

Hidden Gem Paradise

Having travelled all over the world in search of the best vegan food and beautiful beaches it's a dream come true to find this place. The location can be a little tricky to get to depending on the weather since you need to go by boat from Haad Rin (or a rough truck ride through the mountain). The location is incredibly peaceful, and worth staying for a while. I was only able to visit for the day but would love to come back for a longer stay.
I didn't expect too much considering the remote location, but each dish that came out was original and completely amazing. They've been keeping this place a secret and don't even mention that everything is vegan anywhere.
I started with the pomelo salad which is a meal in itself, which I really enjoyed. The flavors were wonderful, and slightly spicy. Next, the crispy eggplant and also cauliflower bomb we're two similar but very unique dishes that I imagine would satisfy any meat eaters. Textures, flavor, and presentation were all incredible. Their shawarma, hummus and falafel dish would have also satisfied me completely. As I became too full to eat more I really couldn't decide which dish to save my last bite for, all equally as great.
The food, location, and vibe of this place is Vegan Paradise, and I can't wait to come back for a stay longer and to try their entire menu. Forever at the top of my list! 🏝️💕

Pros: Beautiful location, Great selection of dishes, Vegan Paradise
