Good food on mass - Edit
My wife, 3 kids and I stopped here for lunch. Staff were excellent and really attentive. There's also a large play area for the younger kids. Be aware the plates come full with additional salad which was really tasty but really filling - you won't need a starter!

lovely lunch - Edit
My husband and I ran in here before closing, yet were still greeted with a smile. I had a tumeric latte (10/10), tomato and basil soup (9/10 - tasted delicious but was only just warm. Bread was really good.) My husband had the sweet potato burger with various raw salads which was a solid 10/10. They had some beautiful looking cakes that we're going back to try. Toilets were spotless. All in all i would recommend this place for vegans.
Pros: Both soups of the day are vegan, Great vegan specials, Best tumeric latte I've ever had

Vegan Christmas Menu - Edit
Been coming here for more than a year, and always had great vegan food. Just tried their new Christmas menu, absolutely superb! We had the butternut squash roast and the nut roast, both were delicious, really tasty. Followed by the bread and butter pudding with custard which was like eating Christmas on a plate. Without doubt one of the best veggie/vegan restaurants you will find. Always great food and really nice staff. Well done Magda and team
Pros: Delicious vegan food, and lots of it!, Really nice staff, Great location, right by the river

Great cafe, great play area - Edit
I really enjoyed this cafe, lots of vegan options. We had the salad plate, soup, green smoothie and turmeric latte all of which was delicious. My favourite part, however, was the great little play area tucked away in a corner near some seats so my daughter could play and I could relax. Best of both worlds!
Pros: vegan options, good food, friendly service, childr

Happy pitstop for a weary vegan - Edit
Although this place is off the beaten track I'm so glad I made the effort. Lovely clean bright welcoming space and lots of vegan options. My vegan chocolate and beetroot cake was very satisfying and my tea had real tea leaves. Wish I'd had more time to stay longer.

Great cafe - Edit
A wonderful discovery. Great coffee, friendly staff and lots of vegan options. Kudos to a veggie place that isn't afraid to actually use lots of veggies in their dishes! Baked mushroom, soup, and breads were tasty; the salad plate exceptionally good.

Brilliant - Edit
The team here serve great portions of vegetarian and vegan food. GF labelling is clear.
Service is pretty good, often a friendly wave is needed to get the attention of a waitress but that's usually down to the fact they're so busy.
If you like speciality coffee they serve locally roasted Rinaldo's Coffee through their espresso machine. They serve both single origin and espresso blends. They also offer it through a french press too.
Pros: excellent food, beautiful location, good coffee
Cons: often busy

Amazing spot! - Edit
Came here for lunch and it's a great place, amazing location by the river which is very relaxing, and the inside of the cafe is very clean bright and welcoming.
They have a good variety of vegan options and label everything that is vegan or can be made vegan.
I got the Waterside Burger which changes every day/week (?) and this day it was butternut squash and millet burger which sounds weird but it was delicious! It was inside a wholemeal bun and came with a sweet potato wedge, hummus and three salads (cucumber, bulgar wheat and red onion/apple all delicious!)
My meal was £10 which was great value as the meal was very big and tasty and filled me right up. I didn't get a cake but there were a few vegan ones (not all though).
Overall this was great and I'll come again next time I'm in Kendal!
Pros: Great location, delicious food, good value
Cons: Not everything is vegan

Bigger and better - Edit
Waterside in Kendal has reopened three times the size, spick and span with a gorgeous children's play area. (It seemed clear that a lot of non-vegetarian parents are dropping in for this reason!) The staff are now helpful and friendly. Vegan options are marked and there are also GF options, though the kitchen is not segregated. The dessert options were limited when I visited (ice cream, sorbet or chia pudding) but there were several vegan cakes, though the bean cheesecake was, alas, a little too directional for me as it tasted of, well, beans. Sadly the fancy coffee and hot chocolate options (chai latte, cream on top, Flake etc) were not available for vegans, at least not on the day I visited. The stuffed mushrooms with vegan parmesan were hot and tasty. At £4 for a smoothie it was quite expensive, but good. I would rate it four and a half stars; I am giving five because I want the improvement to continue!
Pros: Tasty cakes and savouries, nice seeing the happy kids, helpful staff
Cons: Quite dear, no fancy vegan hot chocolate
