Good coffee, staff need training

Went in to grab lunch with a friend, she had told me if was a vegetarian cafe so there has to be vegan accommodations. After pretty bad service we finally got a coffee and a menu. I asked was the bread vegan and the server had absolutely no idea, offering me the gluten free option instead. I explained that gluten free did not mean vegan and asked would she go ask and when she returned said there was no vegan options which was puzzling. Allergen list was also not available on menu to refer to.
