Fresh and good indian food

Loved this place, the owner told us everything could be made vegan and freshly cooked (also written on the menu). We took one dhal, one eggpant dish and peas one. We also chose chapatis : a must! Everything was good,

Very tasty Indian food

I went to several Indian places in Ubud and this one is definitely the best. The owner was very friendly and the food is just amazing! The portions are generous and I don't know if I ever had such nice soft chapatis. The rice portions are small (very reasonably priced though) so order two or rice and chapatis.

Delicious food but not the best ambience

When we arrived I was a bit nervous because the menus looked really dirty and there was only seating for four tables, but we gave it a go. While the menu said all curries can be made vegan, this isn’t true. However the owner lady was helpful and did advise of the different sauces with each curry. We ended up getting pakora which were yummy, I got the vegan tofu vasant (also delicious) and my vegetarian friends got palak paneer and a mushroom mutter which they enjoyed. The chapatis were delicious too. Everything was cooked fresh and we were pre warned that it would take a little while, but it didn’t take that long. While the restaurant itself feels a bit bleh, the food is amazing. The waitress was also lovely, and the owner helpful. The total bill for the whole table was only about 350k

Pros: Cheap, Yummy fresh food

Cons: Dirty menus , Noisy (due to outside traffic)

Good

After reading all the negative comments about the owner, I decided to go out of curiosity, to see if she was that bad. Truth is, the owner was very nice and the food was good, especially their eggplant dish and chapatti 👍

Meet expectations for an Indian restaurant

Good food and price are valuable. Decoration and location can be improved but good value if you want to change a bit the taste from other restaurants

Pros: Fresh food

Cons: Decoration and location (noisy)

very rude owner!!

Cons: Sehr unfreundliche Besitzerin , Kleine Portionen - Teuer, Bad Vibes

Tasty but rude owner

The food is absolutely amazing but what brings it down a whole lot is how you’re treated as a guest. The owner is very rude, tells you what to order and refuses to split the bill. It’s such a shame because otherwise this place has the best Indian food that there is.

Pros: Amazing Indian food

Cons: Rude and grumpy owner, Can’t split the bill

Poor

Not in a good location. Agree with review below - the owner lady was pretty abrupt. They lacked some food options and the food took an eternity to arrive. 10% service charge is added on top of menu prices. Cash only. I would pick Roti Daal over this place anyday.

Cons: Rude service, Food took long to arrive, Cash only and 10% added to bill

Hits the spot

This is a lovely relaxed Indian restaurant on a street that calms right down after sunset.

Although classically Indian in menu (lots of milk products), veganizing the menu was not a bother for the owners who took my orders themselves.

My meal arrived promptly and everything was freshly prepared. Best of all, I felt perfectly full afterwards, with no oily aftertaste or funny tummy.

I wouldn't go out of my way for this food, but if you're staying in Ubud and feel like some Indian, this is a great pick.

Pros: Nice atmosphere, Friendly owners, Not oily

THE BEST IN BALI

This was the best meal our entire trip! You should arrive by 8 so they have time to cook for you because everything is fresh! They are so nice and I would love to eat here every night with the love of my life!!! :)

Pros: CHAPATI, PULAO

Cons: There's only one location for this goodness!

Beautiful fresh Indian food

Located in a rustic bamboo structure - head up stairs and sit down on the cosy floor cushions. The food is made fresh to order so takes a while if the place has a few customers (don't go here if you're in a rush).
The Flavours of the curries were great and can be made vegan - the signature eggplant and tomato dish was the standout for us, combined with cumin infused pilau and fresh made chipati (soft and amazing). Definitely recommend - very good value.

tasty chapatis

Our VegVoyages tour group ate here upon arriving in Ubud. We were ushered upstairs to a lovely bamboo room with floor cushions (some are better than others). We ate family style and shared multiple dishes like dahl, eggplant, aloo gobi and much more with numerous tasty chapatis. A really nice lunch spot. And they sell local chocolate bars called Chok Chok Chocolate. Absolutely divine and makes a great dessert.

Pros: tasty chapatis, nice atmosphere upstairs, chocolate bars for sale

Not very fresh

I came had high expectation on this restaurant after reading about it online but was unfortunately very disappointed. We sat upstairs and the first thing we discovered was that there were lots of ants everywhere which can be acceptable because it was open except for the roof so there is really no stopping them. But since the seating is on cushions on the floor then not so nice. I also ordered an ice tea for which I got a bottle of sugar water to sweeten it with but saw that there were ants even in that bottle :/

We also saw a rat running around on the floor, and again hard to keep out because the place was open to the elements but still :/ The food was not very impressing at all and didn't leave a nice feeling in the stomach afterwards. Well, at least it wasn't very pricey.

Cons: Disappointing food, Ants everywhere, Rat

Love this place !!

By far, it's the best chapati I ever tried!! The saag and the Dahl are great too and the eggplants with tomatoes (I always forget the name of this dish) is my favorite.
The place has a really good atmosphere. It's all in bamboo and the upstairs is so comfy with all those colorful cushions. It's a great place to spend an evening with friends!!

Pros: excellent food, no msg, good atmosphere
