Quiet evening with a view - Edit
Firstly, this is a lovely little lane that you can walk down to get to the walking route through the forest and around a rice paddy, so it might be a nice place for breakfast since the sun rises over the mountains on that side.
Read moreI went for dinner and the two staff working there were really kind and helpful. The evening started off by me being greeted by a fellow eater on his way out. He cheerfully smiled and said 'the chicken's great here!' and I laughed and told him in I'm vegan but thanked him none the less for the recommendation.
I had the tofu curry that the previous reviewer had and can confirm it was vegan! They were also running a special of a Rendang Curry and the lady said she could make it with tofu and tempeh instead if I wanted. On this occasion I didn't opt for that, but I am thinking of going back and giving it a whirl!
The view is lovely, across the hills and forest, it's something you can gaze at for days and not get bored.
When I placed my order the lady jovially said 'you enjoy waiting for food, because everything here is made fresh' which I appreciated. Yes, I was the only person in the restaurant, but my expectations were managed. I also think this is a sure fire way of avoiding Bali belly, making sure that everything comes out of the kitchen piping hot, and this certainly did!
They also have a room on the roadside that shows you some of the touristy things you can do in and around Munduk, and the man (whose name I think is Made) will talk you through what he can do with you.
** I went back a few nights later and had the tempeh rendang and it was also great! Highly recommend!

Nice tofu curry - Edit
Small family-run restaurant with a view of the rice fields in Munduk. After quizzing the owner/chef, discovered the tofu curry to be vegan. All freshly cooked within sight. The curry wasn’t anything spectacular but I was relieved to find a vegan option in a town where they’re far from abundant.
