Crab mac and cheese - Edit
The crab mac and cheese was good. The strawberry drink was refreshing 😋. I totally forgot about getting a cinnamon roll to go. I plan to make another trip for the tacos one day. There is no indoor seating only a small outside seating area in the front.

Disappointing - Edit
Was so excited to find this place on our travels, and instead left feeling like we wasted a lot of time and money.
Read moreThe server seemed like we were annoying him by being there and the food was cold and not tasty. No one in my family finished their food. I got the nachos, and they wer cold- the "meat", the cheese, all of it, and it had rotted lettuce. The only benefit is that the food was "made" quickly, but it was probably because everything was pulled out of a fridge. My husband's crunch wrap was also cold. Sad to feel this way after trying to support vegan establishments.
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Cold food, Poor service

A lot of those ingredients are cold ingredients genius, do you want hot cabbage on your nachos? Also I just got finished eating the crab nachos with my wife and they were amazing as well as the service.

Unique and tasty - Edit
I stayed away from the walnut meat as I’d heard mix reviews. However I had the Crunchwrap with lions mane and it was delicious! My gf had the enchilada which was also tasty. I love that it’s not the same old same old vegan junk food spot. Will definitely be back!

some good, some not - Edit
I liked the mac and cheese, but their vegan meat options are a little weird. Their vegan chicken is mushrooms, which taste good but have a weird texture (because they're just mushrooms). The mushroom walnut meat had a pretty good texture but a weird flavor (kind of bitter) that I did not enjoy.

Nice Customer Service, food was not good - Edit
We had driven for hours to make it to WOH. Order a Taco with the walnut meat and the hamburger helper bowl. My husband and I noticed it was a little salty and really twangy, thinking that maybe is was a lot of miso that could be in the walnut meat. Apparently, it was spoiled, by the next morning we were both has gastrointestinal issues.

They were so very friendly there. Beware, though, there is only limited outdoor seating and no bathrooms.

Flavorful, fresh, & healthy comfortfood - Edit
We had the Original Crunch Wrap, Taco, and Top Flight Nachos. The Original means a savory ground walnut topping. Super good taste and nice presentation. The guacamole was very good. You can order ahead & pick up at the window. They are a 4 min walk from the Hilton in Downtown Harrisburg & open until midnight.

Walk up style (no longer located at old address) 221 N second street is new address. They’re struggling to keep some things in stock rn but we got the Soul Bowl and it was great. Well seasoned lions mane mushrooms and FRESH.

Delicious food, all made in house - Edit
I got the crab Mac n cheese and devoured it. My friend got the burrito and said it was delicious also. We both got meals to go for tomorrow, this place was so good. We were stopping through on our way to Wellsboro and will do our best to stop in again on Sunday if they are open. The man working (forgot to ask if he was the owner) was also incredibly friendly. Highly recommend!

Overpriced and slow - Edit
We wanted to LOVE this place, but with no one else in line we waited for over 15 minutes for a wrap and nachos. They were $18 each and $8 for a very small (maybe 6oz.) lemonade. Unlike other reviews we did not get chips or a dip on the side of the wrap, or the cheese sauce that was supposed to come on the nachos. The food was pretty good, but not worth the wait or price. And get there early, because at about 1: 30pm all of the "chicken" items were not available. You should also plan on taking this food to-go. There were two small tables in front, but 2nd Street is, sadly, not a charming place to dine.

Great Vegan Spot W/ Healthy Options - Edit
WoH is a great choice that doesn't use processed mock meats. Various mushrooms serve as the base of their meals. The meals we purchased came with tortilla chips, and a drink included in the price posted!

We got two crunch wraps. The 'Chicken' and 'Crab' ones. We loved both, but the 'Chicken' lions mane mushroom was the best we've ever had.
Read moreCraig's service was top notch. You can tell he's passionate about his restaurant. He answered all our questions, made accommodations, and gave us 2 chips and 2 drinks for free with our 2 crunch wraps!
The chips with the butternut squash queso is rich and cheesy. And the drinks we got were sweet and tasty. The Elderberry Lavender drink is worth a try if you like floral notes in your beverage.
Pros: Service, Best Mushrooms, Tasty Drinks

Great vegan takeout stop in Pennsylvania's capital city! - Edit
Update March 2024 -- I was excited to learn that Ward of Health moved to a new downtown Harrisburg location, and went again for lunch this week. This time I had the grilled "chicken" crunch wrap made with a base of lion's mane mushroom, and enjoyed that as much as the tacos I had previously tried. The downside of the new location is there is no dine-in space, so I had to get takeout. The plus side is greatly expanded hours!
Read moreOriginal review August 2023 -- After moving to PA in 2021, I made long overdue time this week for lunch at this all-vegan eatery in Harrisburg’s historic Broad Street Market. I ordered one each of the Street Taco, which I loved, and the Save-A-Crab Taco -- plus a refreshing Butterfly Pea Limeaid. I mostly eat SOS-free these days, and this food is not *that* level of healthy -- but it is very flavorful and satisfying -- and I do plan to return more frequently in future. Service was great, and market food court atmosphere was fine for lunch. I wish it were open more days/hours!
