Dinner with a good view

When I was there, we ordered our food through a QR code. The menu had a section for vegetarian tapas. Everything tasted fresh. Portion sizes are not too large (we each ordered one dish and had no leftovers). The view is also very nice, there are large windows through which you can see the sun set.

Always excellent food!

The food here is always good. The menu is very vegan-centric. But omnivores have the option of adding meat to any dish or substituting meat for the vegan element. The meat/fish is all sustainable. Very creative menu - food and drinks. Lovely setting too.

Five Star Experience

Wailea Kitchen is a family run restaurant supporting the vegan community with extensive mouth-watering creative options! Virtually any dish on the menu can be served vegan. Our vegan son enjoyed a relaxing, memorable sunset Birthday dinner and was treated like family by Malik and his beautiful family! We especially enjoyed the Merlot mushroom caps and spicy vegan nacho appetizers. Brussels sprouts, pasta primavera, enchiladas and vegan pasta Alfredo were all generous portions and perfectly prepared! Our family is in different stages of our vegan lifestyle transformation and Wailea Kitchen has a loving, non-judgmental vibe for all.

Pros: Family run with Friendly, attentive staff, No rush, relaxed sunset dining experience , Phenomenal cuisine options, generous portions.

Cons: If you are in a rush, go for fast food, Be prepared, Wailea price for a Wailea experience

Horrible do not waste your time & $

I don’t know how to begin. 45 mins for a drink. 2 hours for food and food then incorrect. Crazy combative owner who blames everything on mainland tourists when he is the problem.

Cons: Takes forever to get food then it is incorrect , Combative owner

I would pass

I stumbled across Wailea Kitchen’s menu and got really excited by the vegan options. We got dressed up and headed over. It was really hard to find as in the directions on how to get there it said there would be tiki torches lighting the way, but they were all blown out by the time we got there and it was dark outside. We had a reservation at 7:30 and we’re about 15 minutes late (because we couldn’t find the restaurant) and then had to wait for a table still. When we sat down we had water and immediately ordered our entrees when asked if we wanted anything else to drink.
I think we waited an hour to an hour and a half for our entrees. I ordered the vegan Alfredo and my girlfriend ordered the prawns. My pasta was fine but at that point I was too hungry. It wasn’t very creamy and I felt like I could make something similar at home. My girlfriend wasn’t impressed with her food either. They had a vegan strawberry rhubarb cheesecake but we just wanted to go home because at this point it was about 9:20 when we left.

All in all we spent over $100 dollars on 2 entrees and a tip….

There are a lot better options on Maui than this one.

Pros: A handful of vegan options , Fancy atmosphere

Cons: Expensive , Not filling , Long wait time

Very good pasta

I really enjoyed the vegan pasta Alfredo and the drinks were good. They were sold out of some items. We sat at the bar because we didn’t have a reservation but there was no one else at the bar so it was fine. Bartender was great at letting us know the vegan options. Definitely recommend adding the portobello mushroom to the pasta.

Pros: Yummy pasta, Great drinks

Cons: Very expensive, Not a vegan place even

Fun to try but probably a one timer

I really appreciate their beliefs and how they seem to care about their employees (they tack on a 3% charge that monthly gets awarded to one employee or divvied up). It has beautiful views.

I got the vegan pasta and it was good.

The vegan nachos were delicious.

My husband eats meat and his food combos (dill with Parmesan) were, for lack of better words, gross and confusing.

All the waiters except for 1 busser had their masks under their noses or chins (super useful guys).

Our reservation was at 5:30pm and we got a table right by the window so it was HOT and blinding.

They do have a golf cart that picks you up in the parking lot and takes you down to the restaurant. But it wasn’t there to take us back—it’s not a long walk, you do have to cross the road, and it makes sense to make sure people find the restaurant but I feel like most people would benefit from the cart on the ride back, especially after a few drinks. Honestly, with a few more signs, they could do away with the cart entirely, it’s a short walk but the place is kind of hidden at first.

All in all, it was great to try, support a place that does focus a bit on vegan dishes, but it’s really expensive for what it delivered. Our bill, after tip, was over $200 (3 cocktails, 2 appetizers, 1 dessert, 3 entrees—one was literally just pasta, no sauce/nothing else).

Pros: Vegan options

Cons: Expensive

Amazing Sunset

Sunset dinner was just what we were looking for. Menu is updated daily and chef is putting out great vegan plates. If this was Vegan only, they would get 5-stars.

Looking forward to seeing more vegan options Chef Christopher Malik!

Pros: View, Staff, Open Air

Cons: Confusing menu
