Seperate vegan menu

Love to go to wagamama since they have a full vegan menu with lots of options. Easy ordering through QR codes, although free tea and water need to be ordered through staff.

Pros: Lots of vegan options , Good variety

Many vegan options

You have to order from a qr-code by the table which sure is comfortable but not very easy when wanting to ask some questions about the menu. I was in a group of friends and the app said to order within maximum 2 mins apart to get the food at the same time, but everything still got out randomly and some of us had to wait for just too long. They also kept on forgetting to bring our drinks.

However we enjoyed the food and just shared some sides. Would especially recommend the gyozas and the cauliflower!

Pros: Vegan clearly marked in menu - even drinks!

Many vegan options but overpriced and details lacking

Best competitor in town to compare with is double double. And double double smashes it out the park. I recommend going there instead, even though it’s on the other side of town.

I visited Wagamama for the first time in Cambridge in 2008, and was very impressed with the Asian semi-fastfood concept. The move to Sweden has not been a huge success though. Lunches are way too expensive (same pricing as dinner) and the menu has too many dishes for the chef to make them all have the attention they need. It is always a bit off, too hot, too sweet, too salty… never really finds its way to justify the pricing. Bonus points for the Hitachino beer which I always enjoy! (Minus points for a greasy dirty glass last time I was there but hey, it happens, most waiters are crap these days post-Covid) Can’t really recommend, no soul. But this part of town has limited options.

It is a bit expensive but their kare burosu ramen is a must have. Sadly they where out of mushroom buns but the gyoza was good. Not my fav wagamama but it cured a craving. Great facilities and staff. Tasty food.

Pros: kare burosu ramen, Nice atmosphere , Friendly staff

Cons: Expensive , Out of stock items

Wagamama

This review is from a business trip a few years ago:
There really is no way to put this nicely, but this place was just awful. I tried the spicy ramen vegan, and the broth was so strong and had a strange flavor. I was hungry and super jet lagged, so I just kept eating it. The waitress asked me what I thought, and I told her I felt the broth was strong. She talked with the kitchen and said the chef agreed and that something went wrong when they made the soup. Accordingly, they offered to make me an alternate to go, so I agreed. When I returned to my hotel and tried the new meal, it was just as awful. This time I just threw it all away. What a waste, and this place was not cheap, I believe it cost $18 USD.

A pleasant place but overpriced with little vegan options worth paying for

I came back today for lunch and in these corona times there were not so many guests so they squeezed in all the guest in the front part (!). I am happy that Sweden has not closed down all restaurants and shops like other countries have, however, our authorities expect some self regulations and common sense. This place is a good example where it doesnt work. We should keep 1-2 meters distance and in restaurants where you sit for longer time and EAT, this to my understanding is more important than if I walk half a meter behind someone in the supermarket.

I was surprized to discover that there is no lunch menu. Who wants to have a lunch for 15-20 euro excluding drinks, starters and coffee! And add to this that I would call most of the dishes Asian street food, that is you would pay a couple of dollars for bowl like this in Thailand, eating probably standing up.

I left the place because for Asian street food you have other options that our less expensive.

However, I did eat here with a friend 2 months ago and I did like the ambience in the evening but I do not understand why I was given menus in English and have to order in English. Furthermore, I liked the food, the prices might be ok for a restaurant when you have a evening meal, but I still feel like what it is, is actually Asian street food, that you would find in other European cities for 5 euro dishes and not 15-20 euro. The starters are also expensive and tiny.

This is Stockholm, many restaurants are overpriced and quality of food average, however, you have restaurants like Min Math and Lao Wai which have real kitchens with skilled chefs.

Pros: location, atmosphere, no clye

Cons: overpriced simple street food, no lunch menu

Decent

The restaurant looks really nice and have a nice atmosphere. The staff was trying to up-sell and asked us to buy more things around 4 times during our visit so that wasn't very nice. I got really excited when I saw a vegan katsu curry, but the fried sweet potato wasn't really tasty. The rest of the meal was good and would probably go back if it wasn't as expensive.

Pros: 6 different vegan mains

Cons: Expensive

Good but chef’s favorite was a disappointment

Wagamama’s ramen - on their recommendation page - was their most expensive vegan dish and it didn’t taste good, was too spicy and the “silk” tofu was a nothing special.

However, their pad Thai was heaven. A bit spicy yet really good.

Overall it was an good experience, being greeted with hot tea, okay amounts of vegan alternatives and kind staff, and an cozy yet modern design of the restaurant.

Pros: Clean and minimalistic atmosphere., Extremely central., Okay amount of vegan alternatives.

Cons: Expensive., 1/2 was satisfied with their food.

Prices does not match quality of service

Edit 2:
After four times with at least one thing from the vegan menu not available, everything was available last time I was there but quality is sinking like a stone otherwise still.

Edit:
I have now been there quite a few times after and they seem to have removed the Itame from the menu and often do not have other things on the menu. They quality has really gone down overall.

With the new vegan menu I have tried this place two times.

The first time I tried the Yasai Samla Curry and was heavily dissapointed, the portion size was not even close to filling, although it had some heat at least. The rice was not good enough either, overall I leaved very disapointed.

The second time I take Yasai Itame, this was much better, I have had much better vegan asian soups in town but this at least was a bigger portion then the samla curry.

Both time I had the garlic- and chili- salt edamame as a side, and thoose where the best thing in the visit. When your sides is your best thing, you might be doing something wrong.

Also every time I been here I feel like the personal have been looking down on me, and been real slow on service, mostly on payment, having to sit in a resturant for 10-20 minutes extra is not fun.

For the rather high prices for Stockholm, I should both be filled by the food and not annoyed at the personel

Good food at a nice place

I had the cheapest vegan dish (don't remember the name) and I thought it was a pretty good meal. Would go here again if I wanted a bit of fancy food at a nice place :)

They have about 8 vegan main dishes which I think is great.

Yeah, well...

I prefer their beer, sake and umeshu over their food. It’s not too bad but I’ve had way better ramen elsewhere!

An Option if you are stucked around the Station

I ended up having lunch at Wagamama basically because I did not have time to go anywhere else.

Like it was alread mentioned, the menu has some vegetarian plates, so it's necessary to confirm which are vegan (e.g., the soba noodles have egg).

I had the warm chili tofu salad, which I paired with rice; just to balance the flavors.
The salad costs 139 SEK (a bit less than 15 EUR), so while I don't consider it to be expensive, it would be fair if it could cost a bit less (espcially if you compare to the vegan buffet at Herman's which costs cheaper!).

One recommendation, if you go during lunch time, it could get pretty packed, so you could try calling them to reserve a table in advance if you want to avoid waiting.
Because the place was full, the service was a bit slow (friendly, though).

Pros: conveniently located, vegan options, friendly staff

Cons: not a very good value, vegan options not labeled, slow service when full

A good choice if hungry at the station

Staff was very friendly and our waiter understood what means vegan and helped to choose from the menu. Food was tasty but not unforgettable.

Pros: Location, Friendly staff, Tasty food

Cons: Not a vegan place, Portion could have been bigger

Perfectly Convenient

Wagamama is located within 50 meters of Stockholm's City Center train terminal. The wait staff is friendly and speaks English fluently. The prices are reasonable, and the staff will go to great lengths to ensure that your order is prepared exactly as you want it. If you are vegan, they can show you which of the items marked "vegetarian" on the menu can be prepared for the vegan.

The atmosphere is very typically Scandinavian. There are tables and booths for groups. or if you're alone, there is a bar you can enjoy your meal at.

Pros: Convenient, Tasty, Friendly

Cons: Hard to find the entrance, Long wait for seating
