Ramen!

There are lots of vegan options on the menu and they're clearly labelled. I had the ramen yasai gyoza for my my main, and we also had some vegan squid and edamame with salt and chilli on the side. The portion of ramen was huge and I was surprised at how squid like the texture of the mushroom was in the side dish (I had wanted bang bang cauliflower rather than squid, but they had none left. There was also no fresh juices available) The service at Metrocentre was pretty terrible. Even thought it was about 2 hours before closing, the staff were keen to get rid of us. It was quiet, but we weren't the only ones there. I was literally still stuffing food into my fat mouth when the waitress started clearing the table. Very awkward.

Sides are better than the Mains

If you’d asked me a couple of years ago whether I’d give Wagamama a 2* out of 5, I wouldn’t believe you. Even though they do have quite a selection of vegan options, in my opinion, the mains are extremely underwhelming. The last couple of times I’ve been, I’ve ordered sides instead as my meal as they are a lot nicer. But because of them doing vegan & gluten free options, it’s an easy choice to suit everyone.
They have increased their vegan options aswell so I kinda feel bad giving the 2 but it’s just my opinion. I’m sure lots of you love their mains.

Pros: Sticky Vegan ‘Ribs’, Wok-Fried Greens, Bang Bang Cauliflower

Cons: Mains need improvement

Lots of options

Loads of options to choose from. Everything I've had so far tasted great. Tried seitan for the first time here and loved it.

Editing to add the "egg" is nothing at all like real egg, which is great for someone like me who dosnt like egg haha.

Firecracker lunch

With almost 50% of the menu vegan (by Oct 21 it will be), the choice is fantastic. We shared the vegan chilli ‘squid’, tofu firecracker, hot vegatsu and mixed mushroom and panko aubergine hirata steamed buns. The squid was crispy and had a good texture with a perfect chilli and coriander dip, while the steamed buns were so soft and delicious. The hot vegatsu was also excellent with perfectly textured seitan and a great spicy curry sauce, although the seitan could have been more seasoned. However, it was the stunning firecracker tofu that was most memorable with its incredible sauce that was bursting with flavour and heat and perfectly cooked veg and rice. For dessert we had the chocolate orange cake and banana katsu, which were divine with the miso caramel ice cream a highlight. This was washed down with a refreshing up-beat smoothie and free green tea. Special thanks also to the staff who was wonderful.

Pros: Fantastic menu choice, Great food , Staff

One of my favourite chains!

I love it here, fantastic menu! Adapt all of your food needs / cater to allergies etc. All food is fresh so you can take out / add veg or other. It is delicious, super tasty and the vegan options have loads of flavour. Every time I forget that they would even have meat dishes since they’re so tasty anyway. Very clean and can see into the kitchen. Always helpful and cater to every need. Deffo a favourite chain of mine and feel like it fills all my needs for Asian style food!

Pros: Fantastic vegan options , Great with allergies / food hygiene , Super clean and fresh

Tasty vegan options. Felt like I had a choice and couldn't decide! All looked lovely. Had wok fried greens and steamed gyoza to start and the samla curry for my main. Will definetly return!

Always a winner

Always been a fan of Wagamama, loving the new vegan menu and being able to have katsu curry again after turning vegan. The food is tasty and service great. I went with a gluten free, dairy free vegetarian, and they went out of their way to get her the meal she wanted that she could eat.

Food of the First Order

After two and a half hours of The Last Jedi it was a short hop to the Wagamama system for some Japanese nutrition. From the dedicated vegan section of the menu we had the yasai steamed gyoza dumplings, the colourful and intensely tasty yasai samla curry with succulent tofu and the extremely filling kare burosu noodle soup style dish with battered tofu and a variety of vegetables. The free green tea kept the bill down to an acceptable £26. Nice interior, great service and good company made this a highly successful visit.

Pros: vegan menu , staff, interior
