Charming shop run with care conveniently located on the Badweg, Vrouwe Jakoba is quite small and offers quality products per m2 as well as friendly service. Apart from VJ, Spar is the only option for groceries and as Spar closes at 18:00, VJ is your best bet after 18:00 sowieso.
Read moreThe food is tasty and made with quality ingredients. I was here with my aunts and mother in law as well as my husband who took their spinach lasagna and mushroom pasta (vegetarian). They all seemed very pleased. The portions were basically double and they ate them the next day.
Husband and I ordered both vegan pizza options the following day, Pomodoro and verdura both were 💪
Personal favourite was the Verdura with the spicy peppers and garlic.
They also have very good wine (some bottles set cold) and if you’re looking for beer, I suggest Pole Bjair, brewed by a local.
They have many tapas, the tapenade, hummus and dolmas are vegan. All good.
This would rate as a high quality deli anywhere but on this tiny island with relatively few other choices, it is a true gem.
Pros: Indispensable on the island , Good vegan pizzas , Curated selection of wine beer and food
Cons: Pizzas need to be ordered ~3-4 hours in advance , Not enough vegan tapas

Prima vegan pizza - Edit
Ze hebben twee vegan pizza’s op het menu, wij hebben de vegan pomodoro geprobeerd. Het was niet bijzonder maar wel een prima pizza met een krokante bodem en lekkere vegan kaas, verder wel wat zuinig belegd. De rucola werd er apart bij geleverd en wat fijn was want dan blijft het lekker fris en krokant en dit was qua hoeveelheid wel ruim voldoende voor de pizza. De pizza was nog goed heet toen hij werd bezorgd.

I didn't know about the vegan pizza and just ordered a vegetarian one with a million veggies on it without cheese and it was great!
