Guess who have a new menu!!! - Edit
I was so so so happy to see that Voltaire have a new menu! They’ve also got a menu with their gluten free options which is surprising a lot!! Me and my boyfriend love visiting Voltaire and it’s definitely one of our go to restaurants for date night! They even do Sunday lunch!

Amazing burgers - Edit
We went in at lunchtime to a great menu which had a huge range of delicious burgers. My partner and I chose a New Yorker and a Bada Boom burger, which came with fries and a salad and we also got onion rings. Amazing chunky burgers, coffee was beautiful and we devoured a chocolate, caramel sundae which was brimming with caramel sauce vanilla ice cream and brownie. Soo soo good and great value for money. The staff were all really friendly and the food and drinks came in good time.

loads of choice, loads of flavour - Edit
What a great find!! After a day at the beach this is exactly what we needed. So much choice on the menu. Inspiring dishes that I'd not tried before, such as the jerk cauliflower wings, absolutely bursting with flavour. I had to have three courses, I was spoilt for choice. The drinks were also good. I had a chai latte and my friend had some mocktails. So easy to order knowing everything is fully vegan. The staff were friendly and the decor is fascinating and cosy. All vegans and non vegans will have a great meal here! Go!!

Best burger ever - Edit
This menu is unbelievable, so many amazing options. The hoisin burger was so good, by far the best burger I've ever had hands down. The food prepared fresh and desserts are homemade. Portion sizes are really good too. I would 100% recommend Volitaire, can't wait to get back to Bangor and revisit. Super kind and lovely family who own this place makes it an extra bonus.

Great range of food, from healthy to junk - Edit
Staff knowledge of the menu was good. They accommodated us by creating side-sized dishes of items not normally available off the platter, allowing us to sample many dishes.

Eating here made our holiday! - Edit
We could find nothing to criticise here - the staff were friendly and the, food superb. Having been vegan for some 22 years we have eaten at many cafes and restaurants across the UK and abroad but I think this is probably the best ever. The food was inventive and interesting and well presented. A joy to visit - thank you!

Superb though not without glitches. - Edit
A superb establishment with a vast and fully vegan array of foods and drinks. Have been here several times, most recently for dinner...they have a separate menu for lunches and dinners which just makes this place even more tempting. Big portion sizes and very tasty.
Read moreFood to the table after ordering is somewhat slow but considering it's made to order, this is justified.
Staff appear to be somewhat of an issue, with them often socialising at the bar in the main room, with a particular staff member being in a vest every time I've eaten here, and staring, making both my friend and me feel uncomfortable.
Other than this, I have and will continue to recommend this place regardless of a hefty price tag but justified for the quality and portion sizes of food and drinks.
Pros: Lots of vegan options, Innovative menu, Friendly staff, on a whole
Cons: Expensive, Staff hang about doing nothing , Somewhat of a long wait for food

Delicious vegan food; very friendly service - Edit
Lovely, colourful, restaurant very near the old harbour in Bangor. An extensive, completely vegan menu. Lots of different options but with a particular focus on diner - shakes & burgers - type cuisine. Service was very friendly and helpful.

Best vegan eatery in North Wales! - Edit
I just LOVE this place. I have been a number of times and it has not disappointed yet.
Read moreWhenever I have friends or family over or we are going out for an occasion we always come to Voltaire. My non-vegan friends now request this place for their birthday meal they love it so much.
I would love to be able to recommend one dish from their menu, but it's just sooo good you have to try it all! One of my favourites to have is one of their sharing platters as you get a variety of lovely vegan-ness to try. Staff are lovely and friendly. The atmosphere is good and service is perfect.
A must visit if you're in the Bangor/Gwynedd area.

Lovely puddings and friendly service - Edit
Really nice to have a good vegan restaurant in North Wales. It was very busy for a cold February midweek evening and hence the service was a bit patchy. The menu is extensive and does cater for non vegans to a large extent with a huge selection of burgers and meaty type dishes. Highlights for me were the cauliflower buffalo wings, crispy tofu and the puddings.

Best in Bangor - Edit
Been here a couple of times now and it gets better each time. Groovy music, relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff. Great selection of food, everything is fresh and interesting. Quite dramatic burgers. Best falafel in town. Very popular so you may want to reserve a table as I was almost turned away on a Tuesday night as they were almost fully booked. This is a real gem of a place in North Wales. Worth going out of your way for.

My first experience of using the Happy Cow App for a Vegan restaurant and I find Voltaire just half an hour away from my Welsh camping spot. Could not be happier.

excellent meal - Edit
We booked a table and were glad we did, this is a snug little place and lots of people got turned away during the time we were eating. There is a lot of food to choose from here and a lot of it is geared around sharing platters. I had a lovely dish which had tofu, samphire and potatos and it was delicious.
