Serves meat, vegan options available. Pizzeria and coffee shop offering vegan pizza, croissant, muffins, and cupcakes. Has non-dairy milk for coffee. Previously named Bakers and Baristas. Reported closed July 2020.
During my visit, I was happy to see that they had a banana walnut muffin and strawberry poptart, so I tried both! The muffin was moist and the poptart was tart and sweet. Would recommend as a quick stop to pick up a pastry.
I’m not sure if we just came here at a bad time. But, I called them to find out what vegan items they had on hand to determine whether or not it was worth the walk. We literally spent over 10 minutes on hold- I checked. Originally they answered to put us on hold. Then, when someone finally picked up again I asked what they had on hand and they had no idea and said they would check- only to put me on hold for another 5 minutes. I was pretty frustrated by that point so I just ended the call. We decided to stop in anyways, they didn’t have any vegan items on hand and the place wasn’t busy at all. I figured it must have been bustling to be put on hold for that long. I wouldn’t rely on them having vegan options and would call ahead (hopefully they answer) to find out if they have stuff. I’m hoping I just contacted them and went there on a bad day and that your experience is better!
They have a vegan croissant, pecan cookie, and banana walnut muffin! I had the croissant and muffin, and they were amazing! The croissant was sweet and the muffin was moist. The employees were extremely friendly and there were a lot of seats.
The lattes here are made with local DC artisinal coffee brand Vigilante. So, if you know anything about good coffee, your taste buds will appreciate your visit to Bakers & Baristas for an almond milk or soy milk latte. They also have plenty of tea and other beverages, but it's all about the lattes, here, if you ask me.
If you're vegetarian, you have a whole bevy of choices for in-house baked pastries that look fresh and fashionable, with some aesthetically pleasing traditional qualities to boot. Think cookie, croissants and the like. If you're vegan, they might have one choice for you, like a coconut caramel pecan cookie - if they haven't run out. Really though, this place is all about the espresso drinks. It's open relatively late for a coffee and pastry shop, so enjoy it at at tall table.

This place is now called Vivi Pizza Roma. It still has all the coffee and baked goods, but now it also serves pizza!
