Delicious food - Edit
We were super happy to find this place! Food was delicious and the staff was very friendly. Make sure to call in advance to reserve (so they know how much food to prepare in advance). I would definitely recommend! I forgot to take a photo of the food but the garden was also amazing and I did take a picture of that!

Vegetarian slow food at it's best! - Edit
We were so happy to find this lovely vegetarian “restaurant”, in a region of north Spain were vegetarian options were rather limited and repetitive (mixed salads or tortilla). Jani, the chef, was very accommodating: although she prefers people to make a reservation (at least) a day in advance, as it was still low season (mid May), she accepted our call on the evening itself. And as the food was so yummy, we immediately made a reservation for the next day as well! The “menu” was the same for all guests: a plate filled with a lovely salad with several vegetables, a hearthy soup (on day one broccoli soup and on day 2 green pea soup), and a piece of quiche (day 1)/vegetable/tofu ‘strudel’ (day 2) All super tasty, with multiple textures and little flavour bombs. On day 1 we also had dessert: lemon and basil sorbet (very refreshing!) and little ‘energy balls’ made from beetroot, coconut and dates, covered with decadent dark chocolate. The atmosphere was very relaxing, and Jani made us feel very at ease. The price for the menu was for sure in line with the good quality (27€ pp). We definitely recommend eating here & wish Jani all the best with her slow food project.

Basque friendliness at its best - Edit
Sadly we were unable to book accommodation in this lovely place but stopped by for supper. It was a really lovely meal, very simple but with wonderful ingredients. What struck us particularly was the ambience of the place and this has made us determined to return. Any holiday is made special in my view if local people are ready to help and advise and are obviously keen that holiday makers enjoy the best of their country. This was very much the case here.

First, let me tell you what you need to do to eat at this place as a vegan (it's worth it!).
Read moreThis is not a restaurant, but a hotel, ran and operated by the people who, at night, run the hotel restaurant. You should call in the morning ( when they're getting the ingredients for the night) and let them know you're vegan and they'll inform you about the options and offer to veganize some menu options which are vegetarian by default except for dessert.
Knowing that, what can you expect? A cozy, beautiful space in which you can enjoy a delicious selection of organic, locally sourced, vegetable-centric dishes, freshly made and with bold flavors. The attention was incredibly kind and accommodating, drinks were also amazing with local offerings and yeah, amazing experience.
Edit: we came back a second time and they made a vegan menu for us with delicious soup and a platter of barley and the best roasted veggies I've ever had. Thanks so much Janire and Giuseppe!

This is a vegetarian restaurant which is part of a rural hotel (name's Angiz and I would recommend considering it if you're looking for a place to stay and you have a car!).
Read moreThe offer only dinners and if you're vegan you need to call ahead as they have a limited menu every day as they work with what locals produce each day. They will however accommodate you and provide a very good vegan meal!
Also, if you're gluten-free or have any other dietary restrictions they will try to accommodate you too, but let them know in advance.
The owners are super nice and they cook very very tasty food which they make with ecological and locally grown fresh vegetables each day.
If you're around this is one of the only vegan options in the area and it is really worth it!

Absolutely delicious food and drinks (local kombucha amongst others). We had salad, burger, ice cream and kombucha. The staff was super welcoming and explained to us where the produce comes from. The views are incredible and the atmosphere is perfect. Will definitely come back.

Read moreOpened just for us on a rainy Sunday night with candles, music and a divine smell of freshly cooked food. We had some warm buckwheat bread and an homemade ginger/turmeric hummus, quiche Loraine with sweet cherry tomatoes, cauliflower topped with Parmesan and balsamic dressing and caramelized onions. Everything was prepared with love and fresh organic produce as well as an explanation of the food served. The dessert was insane a warm homemade coconut oil fudge brownie with vanilla ice cream and a coulis of raspberry. We had a great time and would love to come back whenever we are in the area.

Cosy place with amazing food and beautiful garden - Edit
We discovered this place through the app and were positively surprised cause it was really difficult to find anything vegan or vegetarian in this area. The food was delicious and the owners were so welcoming and nice. The restaurant is part of an Eco Hotel and is really cute. You can also eat outside in their beautiful garden.

Descubrimos este lugar gracias a la app. Aunque llegamos sin reserva previa, Jane fue un encanto y nos apañó una cena para dos personas, dándonos incluso varías opciones. Very friendly little place - Edit
Outside the big cities it's quite hard for a vegan in Pais Vasco to find suitable food when going out for lunch or dinner. I was so glad I stumbled upon Vita on HappyCow. When booking a table the contact with Jani was very positive. She is friendly and enthusiastic . When we arrived at the little restaurant, which is part of an eco-hotel, we were welcomed like friends.
