Underwhelmed

We went to Fameja - Vita Health Food Bar last night and we were disappointed in a number of ways with the food.

We had the black bean burger, which came with a small portion of wedges which were uncooked and unseasoned. The actual burger was nice, however lacking in size and flavour.

The seitan stirfry was very small, and again lacked in taste and flavour. The seitan was salty but that was the only seasoned part of the dish.

We also went back for lunch the next day to try a wrap, however they no longer serve them. We chose the tofu sandwich which was small and again lacking in flavour due to not being seasoned at all!

Overall, given the prices compared to other vegan places we've been in croatia, we felt this was overpriced for the quantity and quality of the food.

Pros: Location, right by the water and boats., Fast and friendly service., Seperate vegan menu.

Cons: Expensive., Small portions., Lack of flavour.

great location, food ok & expensive

The location itself is great. Food pretty ok. Don't get the gluten free pizza though as it's a dismal excuse for a pizza. I hope they change the toppings on it. Then it would of been much better as I was super excited to see a gluten free base as an option in Croatia.

Pros: vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options

Cons: expensive

A éviter

Terrible vegan food

We were so disappointed with our meal here, we were excited to have a vegan menu on offer but wished we had eaten salad and chips instead! We ordered the black bean burger which was completely raw and the crispy tofu with turmeric risotto which was hard, uncooked and had no flavour what so ever. Do not waste your money!!

Pros: nice view of other people eating better meals

Cons: everything

Disappointment of the day

After eating some great food in Split this was terrible. It was quite expensive and my "quinoa Salad" was nothing but boilt quinoa, three avocado cubes, beans and some spinach. No flavor, not a single spice added. Very sad :( also the meals were super small. Don't go here, despite the vegan menu. Cook at home or go for bread or pizza without cheese.

Cons: Expensive , No flavor

Tasty but limited vegan options

We thought a place that marketed itself as selling healthy food that there would be more veggie and vegan options. When we asked the waiter if the veggie wrap and sandwich were suitable for vegans he didn't know what 'vegan' meant and was quite rude. We found the food to be tasty but quite overpriced.

Pros: Tasty food

Cons: Expensive, Staff didn't understand vegan dietary requirements

Fresh Food

Being a vegan on Hvar can be difficult and this is one of the few places that serves a few vegan things. I ordered the veggie wrap which had quinoa, beans, hummus, corn, spinach and carrot. It was fresh but not very flavorful. The 'green lantern' juice left an extreme burn in the back of my throat which I enjoyed but was unexpected. But all the juices were very fresh and made with sweet fruits. My friend built her own salad with a base of pasta which came with a simple olive oil and balsamic vinaigrette but was very bland. I also took home the vegan lemon muffin which I would definitely buy again (mostly because vegan desserts are so rare). Overall a bitvunderwhels but grateful for a more nourishing option.
