Incredible food - Edit
Great vibe, people are nice here, food is delicious. Came here for the authentic New York style crust, super crisp crunch! Their cheese is cashew based and tends to be on the saucier side which makes their white pizzas and fettuccine’s incredibly delicious. I like their fettuccini better than non-veg places!
Read moreThey rotate their menu so it stays interesting.
Pros: Crisp crust, Fettuccine Alfredo is insanely amazing, Vegan without artificial substitutions
Cons: Cheese is runny, Food takes 10-15 minutes to prepare
VirtuousPiePDX
So glad you enjoyed our menu! We make all our cheeses and sauces in-house so it means a lot that you found them better than non-veg alternatives!

Ok pizza, but chewy - Edit
Ok pizza but none of my vegan friends liked it and we thought we spent too much at $150 four for after tip without table service, including dirty tables.

Happy Me! - Edit
What was my favorite, the pizza or the ice cream? It was a toss up. The hand tossed pizza was a perfect blend of sweet and savory. The raspberry cheese cake ice cream in a waffle cone was so good I thought they might have lied about it being vegan! It was great knowing that we didn’t have to worry, it was all plant-based.

Taste 5/5 Size and Price 2/5 - Edit
Virtuous Pie does fabulous pizza however maybe a multitude of factors makes the pies way overpriced. 10” pies are the average size for $16-18 USD. Each pie makes 2 medium-small sized slices of pizza. This place will run a family of four close to $100 with food and drinking. A piece of advice is to try to lower the cost, it’s basically mini gourmet pizza pies. Kind of disappointing considering how legendary they are to Portland…

We thought they had vegan slices but Google menu was wrong! We were bummed but regrouped. Pizza was solid but we liked Boxcar better.

$18 Alfredo pasta?! - Edit
I am all for supporting vegan restaurants and paying a fair price for the food/portion size. In fact, I do it all the time around the Portland area. But the portion size I got for a take out order of vegan Alfredo pasta from here is absolutely absurd. On the dine in pictures, you get a skillet size worth of pasta and I thought it’d be similar for the take out size, but it’s just a joke. The amount of pasta I received for $18 should have only been $8 at the most.
Read morePros: Decent Alfredo flavor
Cons: VERY SMALL PORTIONS, EXPENSIVE, Pasta undercooked

Disappointed and overcharged - Edit
We were visiting Portland and stopped by Virtuous Pie. What a disappointment. It was “Happy Hour” and we were the only ones there. We ordered from the “Happy Hour” menu. I got the Marghereta and my husband got a different focaccia. The portions were extremely small. I wish we had gotten personal pizzas instead. We were still hungry afterwards. So I ordered a Kale salad. It was literally a cup size portion and dry as a bone. (Pardon the analogy). I don’t think there was any dressing on it. I had to ask for some, and they did accommodate that. However, the price on the wall said$6.00, but the guy charged me $7.50!! He wouldn’t accommodate to the price listed on the gigantic menu on the wall!! He just said, “Oh, I guess the price wasn’t updated”. That’s no way to treat a customer! And I was still hungry after eating that too because there was so little of it.

Pros: Focaccia had good flavor, Salad dressing was good once I got some
Cons: Portion sizes were waaayyy too small, Overcharged for the salad, Salad had no dressing until I asked for some

Memorable vegan pizzeria - Edit
We ordered takeout online and picked up. We really enjoyed superfunghi and pear and gorgonzola pizzas, and patatas bravas. Also the razzle dazzle ice cream. Recipes original and the food was made with care.

Jacked prices, jacked customer service - Edit
I went here when it opened more than a few times. IT was at the high end of being worth it and the service used to be kind.
Read moreToday, the costs have been nearly doubled, so not worth it at all. The server this Sunday at 3pm would not hand the allergen guide that resides in a binder beneath the register. She told her to go away, flat out. I told the person where it is and she said she would only show it to me if I kept it at the register. Good thing the place was empty and no one was behind me, which never used to be the case but I can see with that kind of attitude that it would turn folx away for sure.
Even before the hostility, the quality was nothing I ever sought. I work closeby there and never once tried to go, only went by other's request, protesting. Such a negative experience and with many better options close enough, they need to do better.
Cons: disproportionate cost to product, server's attitude , very loud tween music

I used to adore this place, but the past couple times there have been issues. Breadsticks burnt, orders forgotten, etc. I don't like going to a place knowing in advance something will 100% be wrong.

Solid pizza place - Edit
Many pizza places have only one or two areas they excel in, but Virtuous Pie has completely solid appetizers, pizzas, mac and cheeses, and desserts. Everything on the menu is delicious! Garlic knots were a great appetizer. The bread was nice and soft. The mac and cheese pizza was my favorite out of the types I tried. And for dessert, the filling in the cannoli has the best texture out of any cannoli I've tried. It was definitely a non-traditional cannoli, with a seasonal (peppermint) flavored filling, and a waffle cone shell. It was surprisingly good! Service was great, and the environment was pleasant. The only downside is that I wasn't able to find a bathroom at this restaurant.

Great "Funghi" Pie - Edit
Had the "Funghi" pie. Somewhat plain presentation, but one of the best pizzas I've ever had, vegan or not. Phenomenal combination of flavors (mushroom, arugula, dough, truffle 'ricotta') on delicious crispy thin texture.

Wow - Edit
Wow we were blown away. Visiting from England (Brighton, the vegan capital of the UK as well) we were yet to find a vegan pizza we liked - little did we know we had to travel all the way to Portland to find it! We had the ultraviolet and the Sgt. pepperoni and both were equally delicious in different ways. Would choose over an Omni pizza anyday even if we weren't vegan. What a treat 💚

Everybody likes it! - Edit
A while back I brought an omnivorous family member to Virtuous Pie. After eating the mac n cheese and kale caesar she happily told me she was relieved I hadn't brought her to "some weird vegan place" and I had to inform her that I, in fact, had done exactly that. I guess that means this place is omni/vegan-skeptic approved!
Read moreAs for me, I've liked everything I've had there. Some favorites were the margherita (a classic), pie-rogi (more pizzas should have potatoes), stranger wings (I love spicy cauliflower and wordplay), and ultraviolet (walnut/arugula pesto and roasted tomato for the win).
Add some cinnamon pillows, you deserve it!
