Has a separate plant-based menu which is mostly vegan. Located within a restored heritage building, with pet-friendly outdoor seats. Vegan starters may include eggplant goreng dip with emping cracker, gado gado & tau hu goreng. Vegan mains could be kunyit lemak king oyster mushrooms, sambal eggplant, mushroom pong tay, nasi goreng kangkung. Pulot hitam with coconut cream for dessert. Open Mon-Sun 12:00pm-3:00pm, 6:00pm-11:00pm.

Renowned Restaurant with Elegant Furnishing & Fragrant Peranakan Cuisine

Chef Violet Oon has just opened their newest outlet in Dempsey! This flagship restaurant is located within a restored heritage building, with an herb garden, pet-friendly outdoor seating area, and elegant interior design. Renowned for their Peranakan cuisine, I really appreciated the sincere effort by this omni eatery to serve vegan-friendly renditions, all of which were deliciously fragrant, featuring family heirloom recipes, fresh herbs, and healthy whole food ingredients, such as Mushroom Pong Tay. In particular, my favourite dishes were the Eggplant Goreng Dip with Emping Cracker among the starters and Nasi Goreng Kangkung among the mains. Would love to see even more vegan options in the future, especially for the desserts/ (There is currently a Pulot Hitam with Coconut Cream which was delightful, but one can never say no to more desserts! Vegan tarts and cakes inspired by Nyonya flavours perhaps?) Would highly recommend visiting for a glorious meal accommodating different dietary preferences (gluten-free options are clarity marked out too), not to mention the gorgeous ambience!
