Breakfast Of Zeus - Edit
Limited vegan options but you can tell they are really trying to cater.
The breakfast of zeuss is a great entirely vegan breakfast on the menu, and the vegetarian burrito they make with a vegan option is also great and big enough for 2.
The price is a little on the high side but so are all cafes in central Auckland and I imagine the rent.
You'll spend $20 on breakfast but walk out satisfied having sampled a great selection of hot sauces.
The coffee here is hit and miss, Ive had a few good coffees and some disappointing ones - it depends who is making them.
Pros: Friendly Staff, Vegan Friendly, Hot sauces
Cons: Coffee hit and miss, A little expensive, Small

Smallish coffee spot with some good vegan options - Edit
There are not a lot of vegan options but the ones they have are amazing. I had one of the best breakfast burritos here. The only other thing I tried was a oat bar they make in house and that was also super yummy. The reason I rate is fair is because there isn't many vegan options. Don't let that from keeping you from trying the spot though. Like I said the options they do have is better then most all veg places.
Pros: great quality , friendly staff, relaxed feel
Cons: not many vegan options

Hip veg-friendly cafe - Edit
Lovely little cafe - good combination of young & hip, while still being swept up enough to take your parents. Ordered the vegan breakfast burrito, which was packed full of beans, jalepenos, marinated tofu and baby spinach. Very filling, so I shared with my carnivorous father, who loved it too. Was sad to note that the banana split was nowhere to be seen! Got a museli slice to go - not amazing, but the burrito made up for it.
Pros: Hip ambience, Great for veggies and omnis

Impressive and fun service - Edit
When we went to Vinyl it was consistently busy and the cabinet was already half empty at lunchtime. Pleased to see a menu with several vegan options that sounded delicious. When we went to order, we were told they were out of tofu!! However, upon hearing we were vegan, the chef offered to go out and buy some - hows that for service. We had the tofu burger and the vege stack - both yum. Coffee was excellent. The staff were fun and very friendly. Would definately return to try some more of the vegan options and hopefully some of the cabinet food.
Pros: Great staff, Popular, Vegan options
Cons: Busy (not really a con), Slightly noisy (small space)

Really (really) good - Edit
The food was good - lots of vegan options and a very vegan-friendly/knowledgeable staff. Also, the vegan options were clearly labeled on the menu. But..most importantly..they had a vegan banana split! First time in 15ish years of being vegan that I've seen one on a menu. It tasted great too.
Pros: good food, vegan banana split!, friendly staff

Hands down, best lunch in town. - Edit
Vinyl Coffee Shop only opened within the last few months and is my all-time favourite place to grab lunch/brunch. Be it a quick stop to grab a hearty vegan sandwich or salad from the cabinet or sit and stay a while with a gourmet tofu burger and curly fries. There are more vegan breakfast and lunch options than any other non-veg cafe in Auckland. And new specials pop up from time to time - check out the black board or their facebook page.
The food is the highest quality cafe food I've had in New Zealand and Australia. Simple, fresh ingredients prepared by a very talented chef with great detail and good flavours without getting all fancy pants.
It does serve meat so can't give it the full 5 stars but in a city with only one vegan restaurant, Aucklanders can't be too fussy.
Pros: tasty food, cool interior, friendly staff
