Okay

I got the Vegetable Pakora and Baingan Bhartha which were the only thing marked that could be vegan. Looking at the menu it looks like they probably had other vegan options that were not marked. The pakora was really good and the Baingan was ok. Mild was pretty spicy so I would go low on the spice

RACIST and lack knowledge of vegan options

I stopped in after a recommendation for Vegan food on Happy Cow. I walked in and was not greeted for 5 minutes. So I took a to-go menu and used the bathroom. While in bathroom, the worker banged on the bathroom door and asked who was in the bathroom. I replied that I was a customer and would be out shortly. When I came out, the server was on the opposite side of the counter and the energy was already off. I asked for “vegan option” because there was a sign on the window that read vegan items were available. The server asked “what do you want?” I asked for a recommendation. He recommended chicken curry after I already told him that I was looking for vegan options. It was clear that the server knew nothing about vegan options, so I decided to leave. The server got belligerent, yelled and used told me that “you people are not welcomed here”. I asked who he was referencing and he signaled in my direction. I was the only person in the restaurant. He said “you people always come in and use the bathroom without paying”. I was in complete disbelief because I never experienced this behavior at a restaurant in downtown Lakewood. I am a health provider in the area and I will be sure to tell my colleagues of this racist behavior. I am a black male and I was dressed down this day. I guess he assumed that I was just anyone off of the streets. This behavior is unacceptable and needs to be managed ASAP. I believe this restaurant is new but needs serious customer service training. I tried not to label the guy as racist but when I asked who “you people” were, he kept nodding signaling in my direction. I just wonder what the experience would be if I looked different. I WILL NEVER COME BACK TO THIS ESTABLISHMENT. The worker didn't even know what vegan was after advertising that they have vegan options.
