Vinnie’s is the epitome of gorgeous food, sustainability and the joys of being plant based

Vinnies is hands down one of my favourite places to eat vegan! Not labelled solely vegan but ‘plant based’(with all vegan food except the addition of halloumi or egg to some dishes if you wanted and cows milk in hot drinks unless you stated for a dairy alternative)Everything is gf too! .From the outset, this cafe/restaurant welcomes you to the world of eating well and in abundance! The menu hosts a range of plant goodness from ‘a plant based brunch’ with pea and spinach fritters, homemade hummus and a an activated but and seed ‘sausage; Canadian buckwheat pancakes with a rich chocolate, tahini drizzle banana coins to a decadent creamy mushroom linguine topped with a walnut crumb. From the different dishes I have tried, I cannot fault one! Each mouthful is decadent and leaves you wanting more, and the flavours dance in your tongue! I cannot forget the beautiful presentation that is worth an award itself! All made in the kitchen as you are seated, it is great to see the food being prepared fresh and to the highest quality!(the vegetables they use is grown in an allotment by the owner!)They are zero waste so availability on dishes may vary but the chef is happy to accommodate to your needs. As well as food, Vinnies have a great drinks menu: fresh house smoothies made with homemade oat milk, house kombucha that is brewed on site, variety of coffee and gluten free peroni beer for the adults! The chai latte with sesame milk is just heavenly. A daily dessert is also offered!(the cheesecake are lovely!) Only downside is that it is open from a fri-sun which is definitely not enough! I wish it was open a lot more! Fantastic place! I could go every week if I could afford it! 🌿🌼

Pros: Delicious, fresh, beautifully prepared food

Cons: Only open 3 days!(wish it was more!)

Veggie fine dining

After falling in love with Vinnie’s after trying the raw ‘Vizza’ at a vegan fair, eating in the restaurant was just as incredible! I had the vegan frittata with coconut cheese and beans- all of which were delicious. Definitely one of my favourite places to eat out in Cheltenham and I can’t wait to go back to try more.

Colourful, tasty food

This cafe is tucked away and is quite small but has amazing food. They’ve really experimented with new flavours and ways of cooking and the results are so tasty! Try as many dishes as you can to experience all the food (and also because the portions aren’t too big). The desserts change daily but are rich and indulgent!

Pros: Lots of different types of food, Amazing desserts, Really friendly staff

Cons: Small venue so pre-book a table

A great hit!

My partner and I had a smoothie each and a vegan breakfast, the homemade vegan cheese and nut bread were stand outside, you can tell a lot of love and care went in to creating it. Finished off with a slice of vegan berry cheesecakes as although we were both full once we saw the table next to us order it we couldn't resist it! The gf and vegan biscotti to go was also very nice! The menu is small which my partner and I both agreed was good as it means less food waste and what they do they do well! We paid 75p extra to have a bamboo reusable straw with our smoothies, it shall never leave my purse! Great place with a great ethos!

Pros: Bamboo reusable straws, Home made nut bread and vegan cheese, Amazing friendly staff

Delicious, fresh food.

Welcoming atmosphere in this small basement café. I sought it out as it was recommended on the Happy Cow app and was not disappointed. I had a very good salad, although it was an extremely cold day and I envied my companion’s hot dish. Vegan cheesecake for pudding was divine. Excellent coffee, too.

Pros: Plenty of vegan options., Small menu, allowing very good quality of dishes.

Great setting

This place is central although locals do not appear to know where it is, that said it is worth finding and is a well presented very clean with friendly amenable owners. The food was prrsented very well and tasted fantastic. Lots of effort put into making things from scratch. We both had the vegan breakfast with walnut milk lattes.

Pros: Good choice for all tastes vegan and vegetarian

Cons: None

Lovely little spot

I ate here with a vegan curious friend as an alternative to our usual pub lunch. We both really enjoyed the fresh and tasty food that was served with a smile. The nut bread was a hit. The atmosphere was relaxing and it was a cosy environment. They list as serving wine, however when I ordered a bottle for us to share they only had a single one that they could offer us! However it was rather nice so we were happy. My friend felt the menu was a little limited.

Nice healthy restaurant with vegan options

Nicely decorated, Vinnie's Eatery usually has a seasonal menu with plenty of vegan options, which I find great! All of their dishes are fresh and full of vegetables. I tried Vinnie's Vizza (raw pizza) and it was tasty and very filling! Their juices are also very good, but a bit pricey in my opinion. Overall I had a good first experience, I will definitely go back.

vegan Christmas set meal

Had the opportunity to enjoy a set Christmas dinner that was vegan-friendly https://vinnieseatery.uk/2017/12/14/a-few-spaces-left-for-our-plant-based-christmas-dinner/ as spotted this on Facebook. I went with my son's girlfriend, which was great... my husband's vegetarian not vegan and likes his dairy.

Vinnie's were very accommodating - rather than prosecco we both had a turmeric latte with nut milk which was lovely. There were a couple of things missing - no cranberry & sage stuffing with starter (or with main as trimmings), and the dessert was a satsuma followed by a different cheesecake to the one on the menu. On the whole an enjoyable evening and quirky little restaurant.

Pros: friendliness, atmosphere

Cons: set menu wasn't what we ate - no mention of why

Great atmosphere, cakes are great

My boyfriend and I went here on a recent trip to Cheltenham. Lovely atmosphere and presentation and the cakes were a must try (had the cinnamon roll and millionaires shortbread - both amazing) the Mac and cheese was a bit disappointing as not super flavourful but everything else was great.

Best Vegan Breakfast By Far

Visited on a Sunday morning and I was thoroughly impressed by the friendliness, cleanliness, and the absolutely delicious breakfast and coffee! The presentation and attention to detail was lovely. If I return to Cheltenham one day I will definitely go back to Vinny's for lunch and dinner.

Pros: Everything was great!

1 Star Review if it would let me!!

I didn't want to write a Bad Review about a Vegan Restaurant, but I now feel that I have to!

My Vegan husband & I love eating out at every Vegan Restaurant we can find (I want to support the Plant Based Restaurants at every opportunity!)

There are many flaws with this Restaurant but my main issue was with the Food...

We ordered 2 slices of Mocha Cake (Raw Vegan) & 2 Almond Milk Lattes. I am not exaggerating when I say it was All Disgusting!
I enjoy Raw Desserts on a regular basis, this 'dessert' was INEDIBLE. It wasn't a matter of taste, the Cake was Gone Off as was the Latte!
I took 1 bite of the Cake & noticed straight away that it wasn't right, the taste that followed was extremely unpleasant! (I cut it in half & put a large piece into a napkin to throw away later)

The Latte was split (apparently acceptable to Vinnie's Eatery because it was home made Almond Milk) but that aside it was Off too!

When I contacted them about it later they refused to acknowledge that maybe it was a fault of their's & instead suggested that it was because i didn't enjoy the flavour! (On reflection I should have made them try it for themselves at the time!)

My husband had an upset stomach the next day, of which they didn't acknowledge either!

I haven't tried anything else from the Menu (so I can't speak for that) but it's safe to say that after Our Experience & the Rude Communication that followed we wouldn't go back if they paid us!

Pros: Pleasant Service 'At The Restaurant', Decor

Cons: Terrible Customer Service , Food / Drink was Inedible , General Menu information about the Restaurant Onli

I would like to apologise for this woman's comments. If you appreciate the enormous support of Vinnie's customers, this individual does a great disservice to veganism, I can only apologise on her behalf for the hatred she is trying to sour the beautiful reputation of Vinnies Eatery with.

The chefs really know how to use their ingredients to make amazing tasting food which is an experience for your mouth! Everything is vegan so nothing is off limits. And don't forget to treat yourself to a desert!

Cakes Galore

My 10 year old and I stopped by to collect some cakes and homemade juices for our long car journey home. We had a lovely conversation with the owners, one of whom is the chef. They were a delight and we wished we were in Cheltenham for longer to return for a proper meal. The fresh juices were stunning and we bought an array of gorgeous cakes for us, and my husband to enjoy when we got back home. Brilliant find and we will be back 😍

Pros: Food , Service , Ambience

great lunch

I had a fantastic meal here, the lunch option is a sort of buffet where you get a little of different dishes to try, all of which were delicious. Definitely a place I'll go back to.

Modern atmosphere, great hosts and lovely food

I went as part of a supper evening...so a buffet of various dishes was made available. They like to concentrate on offering healthy, seasonal whole foods - no processed stuff here! Because the eatery is 100% plant based, there's no checking everything twice or watching them like a hawk as they make your coffee in case they put cow's milk in (yes, I'm looking at you, Costa). My only regret was that as a driver I wasn't able to sample their cocktail menu....

What really struck me is how friendly and keen the team were. Vinnie and Louis were happy to meet everyone, talk about ingredients, take suggestions etc. The prices were reasonable and you're in a historic part of Cheltenham surrounded by Georgian architecture.

I've heard legendary things about their macaroons....I look forward to going back.

Pros: Reasonable prices, Healthy, great tasting food, Friendly customer service and welcoming hosts

Cons: Slightly tucked away , Parking - give yourself extra time to find it!
