VILLA AUGUSTUS - Edit
We komen hier graag.

Wonderful location, food could be better - Edit
The restaurant is in a pleasant, vibrant building, with a nice terrace. There's also an impressive vegetable garden and a shop with vegetables from the garden and other nice food and non-food, as well as a hotel in an impressing building.
Read moreThe menu has several vegan options. I combined 2 starters from the menu, the salad, which tasted okay, but only had leaf salad and beets (some more diversity like omatoes, carrots, corn, and/ or seeds would have been nice); and the roasted vegetables, nice but nothing special.
We also had thyme french fries, not bad but again not 'wow'.
No vegan dessert except ice cream.
Vegan main dishes available were a meal with beans, a pizza, and there was a pasta that could be veganised.
I would come back since this is an energising place and I would love to visit the vegetable garden in more detail.

Aanrader!

Beautiful, a few good vegan options - Edit
Beautiful gardens. There is one really tasty vegan cookie: lemon thyme. But in general: not many options for a vegan meal.

Tegenvallend bezoek - Edit

Cons: Weinig veganistische keuze, Matige smaken

Limited options - Edit
The menu has a 4 or 5 items that are offered with a vegan option upon ask. We got the mushroom gnocchi, pumpkin mash and mixed roasted greens which were nicely cooked but came in quite small portions for the price. The pizza did not look good. Wouldn’t come back to eat but it’s a nice location though, better for a drink or coffee.

Paradijs in Dordrecht - Edit

Good food, but limited menu - Edit
For a place that’s known for it’s vegetable garden, you would expect a menu based on vegetables. That’s not the case. There was a ‘vegan’ dish with pesto. When we asked about It just to be sure, the pesto was made with cheese.
Read moreThey don’t have vegan mayo.
The breakfast options are even more limited. They didn’t even have soy yoghurt. We went to a nearby supermarket instead.
Pros: The surroundings are beautifull, The vegetables are delicious
Cons: Limited choices

Inspiring experience - Edit
Great place for our family diner after a walk in the Biesbosch. Amazing location on the sunny terrace and delicious local food.
Read moreThe location is quite impressive with an artistic interior and large open kitchen.
The concept, using local organic produce from their huge garden is evident from the tasty dishes.
The seasonal salad was a bit bland, with very cool vegetables like purple rettich and original leafy greens. But a dressing or some more testy herbs would have been nice.
The seasonal grilled veggies were very tasty and grilled on point, going from fennel to green asparagus.
As mains we had the 2 vegan options, vegan seasonal pizza and caponata. Both tasty. The pizza crust was nice and crunchy but the topping was a bit inspirationless with just the grilled veggies again. Portions were quite large so that there were no vegan desserts was okay.
Pros: Very fast service, Special building and location
Cons: Limited vegan options

Beautiful place🌿✨ - Edit
It’s is a lovely building/restaurant/market/hotel with a big garden where they grow their own products. A great concept and the restaurant is also really cosy. But I’m disappointed in the vegan options on the menu, its great for vegetarians but not for vegans. They first brought my soup with (milk) creme in it, when i asked again i got one without creme. They don’t have vegan mayonnaise… Beside this there weren’t any vegan lunch options.

Nice food in great location - Edit
What a beautiful location, serves seasonal products (often from the garden) with several vegan options. Had roasted vegetables as a starter and lemon risotto for main. Awesome smells and good taste. The blood orange ice cream was to die for. Service was a bit strange: waited long to order our drinks, but the food arrived very quickly and immediately followed with the main; the coffee at the end took forever to even order. But the staff was very nice, so only a minor complaint.
