Blown away! - Edit

I couldn't believe such an incredible spot existed in this area, I will be routinely driving from barrie to come here! The food is absolutely epic and I would highly recommend this to any vegan/vegetarian in the area!

Love the food and atmosphere! - Edit

This little treasure is located in an old restored house. The food is lovely. It's all vegan with the exception of optional goat cheese (from local happy goats that they claim have names). The owner is an animal lover and has a pet chicken (which I only know as I've followed them on Instagram!) I only mention this to make the point as to the owners love for animals. anyway back to the food..I've come here many times, always with meat eaters and even they have always seemed happy with the food. Their Cesar salad is the best I've ever had. I order it ever time I go. I love that there's a mix of different types of dishes.. some are western type dishes done vegan, and others are Asian inspired dishes such as Indian and Thai. There are potato wedges and other items similar for a more casual dish. There is definitely something for everyone. This is also more than just a restaurant, there is an attached studio where they run wellness workshops, yoga classes, etc. I'd recommend checking out their website in advance for info.

Very nice food - Edit

I was very happy with the vegan menu with plenty of diverse options. We had an appetizer, a salad, 2 entrees and desert, and everything was excellent! The flavours were great, and everything was very fresh and healthy. The restaurant itself had a nice atmosphere as well. I would highly recommend this place to anyone.

Pros: Fresh, Organic, Flavourful

My new favorite restaurant - Edit

We had a extraordinary dinner at the Vidya's Veggie Gourmet. I had the Wedges (organic potato with house made apple cider ketchup) and as an Entree the Maria's Mushroom Pierogis (black trumpet mushrooms, tender asparagus, garlic confit, oven dried tomatoes, hemp organic basil pesto, vegan almond goat parmesan). As a dessert I had the Buddhas Chocolate Mousse. All organic and all excellent. But not only the meal was amazing, also the whole peaceful atmosphere of this place makes your stay feeling like an "escape from the daily routine". The staff was very friendly and open for questions about nutrition and health. I will definitely come back to the sunday brunch and I will also try out the Yoga class. 5 stars :)

Pros: the owner is a nutritionist, all organic, gluten free, vegetarian, sunday Brunch

Vegan Protein! - Edit

The Chana Masala, called Sita's Chana was extraordinary. I ordered it with quinoa which is a good source of complete protein. My dessert was a vegan protein shake with hemp seeds, dates and banana :) Gave me enough strength for the day. I'll come back!
(Wanted to give 5 stars, but it is not possible for vegetarian restaurants)

Pros: Vegan organic Protein, Quinoa, Delicious

Wonderful food and atmosphere! - Edit

Vidya's Veggie Gourmet has become my new favorite restaurant! The food is fresh, delicious, organic and gluten free. They have a number of tasty and healthy elixirs, free trade coffees, teas and even organic and gluten free wine and beer. I come back time and time again for the fresh soup and salads, the lentil Dahl and Thai-Malaysian noodles, the apple crisp or pear cheescake depending on my mood. I love the 19th century historic atmosphere of this former inn and the renovations they have made to the site. The staff is very friendly and helpful. This place is a must visit!I want to give it 5 stars but it only allows 4 stars at most.
