This was somewhere you could guarantee on getting tofu and seitan as well as vegan sausages. They don't even have a good stock of vegan mayo anymore. Maybe it's because the local Pingu supermarket has started to sell these products at better prices. Still good to go for condiments and diary free milk products.

The better of the two health food stores in Armacao de Pera. Whilst the focus here is on health supplements, vitamins and ethical toiletries they do have a fair selection of vegetarian and vegan food items such as dried pulses, condiments, sauces, tinned items and dairy free confectionery. There is also a fairly decent fridge section with soya yoghurts and if you are lucky, tofu and seitan. It's always worth visiting both stores on the same day to see what is available as they are within very short walking distance of each other. It's a good place to get wheat grass, vegan mayonnaise (if it's in stock) and soya products.
Pros: friendly, central location
Cons: stock can be limited, imported items are expensive , hit & miss on fridge items
