A nice concept in a cute package - Edit
Cakes (all vegan and gluten free) are extremely cute, real eye candy. The taste was pretty average though and a bit too sweet to my taste. The style of the cafe is addorable but seems like the decorator tried just a bit too much. Cute details were little over the top. If your diet requires gluten free options, this is the place for you!

Cons: expensive, taste wasn't that special

So cute - Edit
Such a wonderful little cake & coffee shop - really cute inside & very friendly people. I found it really welcoming. The slices of cake are huge but delicious & there is a wide range to choose from.

Cutesy vegan cafe - Edit
Selena gomez on the radio, pink frilly decoration and inspiration quotes on the walls: cutesy. The cakes were all vegan and super pretty to look at but we got the first slice of rainbow cake and it was a little frozen. It was also kinda expensive at 4.50 a slice. Pretty average besides being instagrammable

Cons: Low key expensive, Cakes were frozen?, Selena gomez

Cuteness overload - Edit
The little shop is so cute and loved their mugs for our chai tea lattes. They always have a great selection of cakes, brownies and cookies and I am never disappointed with my choice.

Good and bad - Edit
Vida is such a sweet looking place, the decor is lovely and the staff are super friendly. Unfortunately the cake was less good than I hoped. We had a couple of cupcakes which were different flavours but had the same plain base that also had a strange, dry texture and odd aftertaste. There's not a lot of choice but they do have soft serve, unfortunately we were too full to try it but it looked delicious. The coffee was good though I must say.

Vegan Treats Galore - Edit
I came to the bakery for the first time yesterday - the pretty cakes in the window tempted us in! You can eat in or take away.
Read moreWe bought a selection of cupcakes and a piece of cake, each came in its own little box. There were lots of flavours to choose from, some classic, some more unusual. We enjoyed all of the ones we picked! I also spotted they do soft serve ice cream with unlimited toppings!!! So I think we will be returning soon to try that. Lovely treat on a Sunday!
Pros: 100% Vegan, Nice selection

Spoilt for choice - Edit
I’ve been to the Vida bakery stall at various events and when we passed their new, permanent location in Brick Lane and saw they had soft serve ice cream, we had to go in, even if it was lunch time and we should have had something savoury. They have created a lovely little café that has character and while I wasn’t the biggest fan of the soya based ice cream, it was good overall and the brownies (topping) were amazing. Portion was big and price reasonable. The staff were very friendly and patient-with so many vegan (and gf) options, it can be hard to choose. Ill be back to try some of there cakes, I’m sure. Looking at the height of them, come hungry or ready to share 😁

Really nice cake - Edit
I had the three layer neapolitan type cake and it was really nice. I also had the raisin cookie which was one of the nicest raisin cookies I've ever had. The cupcakes looked nice and there was about 6 different flavours to choose from when I went, but I didn't try them. Everything's gluten-free which is a huge bonus for me. There is some seating (I think I coincided with an afternoon tea party so nowhere to sit).
Read moreUpdate: I have since been to their stall in Boiler House several times and eaten pretty much everything they have. My favourites remain the raisin cookies (bigger than your hand) and the layer cakes - the strawberry basil was brilliant and unlike many cake shops, the layer of icing is relatively thin so not overwhelmingly sweet. Some of the cupcakes are better than others - the only complaints being that a couple of the flavours are a little drier and my husband said the taste of the mojito cupcake was quite mild. I enjoyed the double chocolate and lemon cheesecake cupcakes I had most recently. The staff are always really nice and friendly and I'll definitely keep going to their stall, wherever it may pop-up when they leave Boiler House.

Lovely Cupcakes! - Edit
Vida Bakery has relocated to the Boiler House food hall at Brick Lane market, where they sell a whole variety of cupcakes - probably about ten flavours when I was there. I got a box of 6 for £16 and was very impressed. I found the peanut butter and jelly too dry, but the others all got positive reviews. The caramel was especially good. They all looked really beautiful too. I believe all but one was also gluten free as well.

Beautiful cakes and beautiful owners - Edit
Vida Bakery is my go-to cake place in London now.
Read moreCupcakes are always delicious but also beautiful, carefully designed and flavoursome. Their cakes are just outstanding, and I've had some made for various birthdays and occasions now. People can never believe these cakes are vegan and gluten free. They're offering an afternoon tea service too, which is a must for any vegans looking for something sophisticated and delicious on the weekend.
Dani and Vane are amazing ladies running an amazing business, and I'm sure they will continue to flourish. The food speaks for itself.
Pros: Delicious cakes and treats, Amazing afternoon tea, Decent price
Cons: None!

Pretty cupcakes - Edit
Pretty cupcakes with an interesting range of flavours. I enjoyed the peanut butter and jelly one. The cupcakes are gf which I am not used to, I found the sponge slightly dry but it was tasty and it is obviously great if you are gf and vegan to have such a wide selection. They also have slices of cakes and cookies which I will try another time.

Great for gluten free - Edit
This is a cute, friendly place and I liked the girls running it. There was a terrific selection of cupcakes and they tasted alright for gluten free. Also a very well-stocked vegan cookbook selection for browsing. It's a nice place to stop for coffee and cake. Like a lot of places around Shoreditch now though, the prices are very high. A small matcha latte cost £3.50 and the cupcakes, which are also small cost £3. The prices mean I won't go as often as I'd like to.
Read morePros: Friendly, Good selection of cupcakes, Good selection of hot drinks
Cons: Expensive for what you get, All gluten-free (for me, not as tasty as wheat)
VaneVIDABakery
Hi Laura,
Read moreMany thanks for your feedback, we really appreciate all comments and suggestions, and most importantly we take them into consideration. In fact, we dropped the price of our matcha lattes, and we also included a deal on Tuesdays and Wednesday when you can have a cupcake and a hot drink (including matcha lattes) for £5.
I wont be able to say why prices at Shoreditch places are so high, but in our case ALL our baked products are handmade every morning to offer our customers nothing but the freshest. We don't buy anything pre-made and we do everything ourselves (Dani and myself). Also most of our ingredients are fair trade and organic which also increases the cost.
The reason behind 'all gluten-free" is because we are a free-from/vegan cafe, so that takes in the gluten as well.
We would like to see you soon, I hope you come any other day and have a special treat on the house, just because of the great feedback you have given us!!
Thanks
Vanessa
