We stopped at verde vegan for a quick lunch and were very happy wirh our choice.

We were delighted to see this place open for lunch. The person working there was so nice and explained the options to us. There was a handwritten menu which was kindly translated to us. I had the rose gnocchi and this was really tasty. Perfectly cooked and the flavour was excellent. My partner had a plate of 4 mixed vegetables. I tried the cauliflower one and again the flavour was outstanding. I had a cocoa and banana smoothie which was good. We were then offered dessert. Cheesecake with some chocolate. Again, incredible flavour and very generous size. Really nice place.

The owner is very friendly and helped us place our order. They have a variety of baked goods, sandwiches and you can also have lunch there. We ordered a plate with different lunch options and ate something sweet afterwards. Everything tasted good. If we’ll ever be back in Livorno we’ll definitely visit again!

Nevertheless, I’m almost no time we received our order.
We had a yummy and fresh smoothie, café americano, a greek salad (green salad, veta, olives, onions) and I also got a tasting platter, very common in Italy.
I love to get several things to try out.
Salad was very fresh and the feta-alternative very yummy.
My platter contained a piece of lasagna, a piece of parmigiana, potato-arancini-like ball and a piece of veggie-stuffed pastry.
It was alright, solid home cooking-style.
But the combination of spices and the taste in general didn’t really hook me.
E.g. the white lasagne contained radish, a combo I didn’t feel.
And all in all it lacked a bit in freshness.
Don’t get me wrong, there was no “old” food or so, but I enjoy something crisp, juicy, raw… when foods are prepared in advance and reheated only.
Maybe there are people who get me.
When I’m back, I’d choose something different, probably one of the salads, smoothie was great, also the desserts looked very interesting.

Wir waren während unseres Urlaubs drei mal hier und jedes Mal begeistert. Es ist ein toller, kleiner und scheinbar familiengeführter Laden mit einer 100% veganen Küche. Von süßen und herzhaften Backwaren über Smoothies und Säfte sowie Lunch Angebote bietet der Laden wirklich eine breite Auswahl. Vor allem das Schokocroissant, den frisch gepressten Orangensaft sowie das Panini Tomate „Mozzarella“ können wir empfehlen. Einzig ambivalenter Punkt: Gute Sachen wie die Schokocroissants sind häufig schnell vergriffen. Das ist natürlich ärgerlich, bedeutet aber auch, dass gut gewirtschaftet und vermutlich wenig weggeschmissen wird. Also: schnell sein lohnt sich! ☺️

We stopped for a break after a long long walk under the summer sun and we all ordered a different juice. They have a great selection of fresh ingredients, both fruit and veggies, your juice is made right in front of you and it's super tasty and refreshing!

Super leckeres Essen und sehr freundliche Bedienung - Edit
Ein sehr nettes kleines Bistro in mitten Livornos, mit der Möglichkeit sonnengeschützt unter Schirmen draußen zu sitzen. Die Bedienung war sehr nett und wir konnten auf Englisch bestellen. Alles was wir bestellt hatten hat sehr gut geschmeckt und war frisch zubereitet.
Read moreZu jedem Gericht wurde eine Serviette und zu den Getränken wurden immer Strohhälme aus Plastik gereicht. (Das scheint jedoch kein Problem dieses Restaurants zu sein, sondern ein generelles Problem in Italien. Hier muss sich auf jedenfall etwas ändern, nicht nur bei den Restaurants, sondern bei der Grundhaltung der Kunden).
Positiv aber war, nachdem wir das Thema angesprochen hatten wurden die weiteren Gerichte ohne Probleme auch ohne Müll serviert.
Pros: sehr lecker, freundliche Bedienung, geringer Preis

Very cool vegan cafe in the centre - Edit
I ate in this cafe twice last summer. They have many vegan sandwiches, sweet options and other warm dishes in the menu. I tried a fresh pressed juice (so good) and a sandwich with tahini and veggies (amazing). I loved this place and the couple working there is very nice!
