Endlich hat Karlsruhe ein zweites veganes Restaurant! Im Verde habe ich mich richtig wohl gefühlt, es hat eine schöne Einrichtung und super nette Mitarbeiter. Von Vorspeise bis Nachtisch war alles sehr lecker! Kommen gerne wieder♡

Wir haben unseren Besuch im Verde sehr genossen. Die Bedienung war total nett und das Essen hat uns richtig gut geschmeckt. Es gibt eine gute Auswahl an Vorspeisen, Hauptgerichten und Desserts (der Snickers Eisbecher ist sehr zu empfehlen). Wir kommen gerne wieder :)

Read moreWe didn’t even get the chance to order as we spent 40(!) minutes of our 60’ lunch break waiting and signalling that we would like to order. They didn’t even bring us a menu so we took one off a little side table. No problem, that might happen. After 20 minutes of waiting my husband politely went to the counter to order our drinks (!) and meals. We still thought “okay, they have just opened the restaurant, maybe the staff isn’t as trained as it should be. No biggie.”. At the counter, he was told that someone would get our order immediately. No chance. There weren’t even many guests! So, after 35’ of waiting hungrily and becoming more irritated by every passing minute, we decided that we would rather eat anything than giving them more chances to convince us to come back. When we went back to the entry/exit, we heard the staff talking about us loudly: “those were the guys who wanted to order.” “Oopsie.”
So, I really don’t get the previous five star ratings. We had the worst experience at this place. We wanted to spend our lunch break there but it ended at the Indian place next door.
It’s a pity and I would have rather recommended this new vegan place in town as there still are too few. But if this is the first vegan experience people get, they will be rather shocked than convinced.
Also, the menu with only four rather expensive dishes was not appealing to me nor my husband.
Like, not at all although we don’t have any no-nos (except from animal products 😅) or allergies.
When I listened to my vegan colleague talking about her nightmare birthday dinner at Verde Karlsruhe, I could only nod.
Cons: Worst “service”, Few choices, Too expensive (“tempeh steak” at 20€)

Oh no, such a shame. Hopefully they’ll improve. While I am totally for supporting vegan restaurants, I still expect a level of service- whats the point if you can’t get served?!?

Sehr ausgefallene Speisen nicht negativ gemeint, im Gegenteil man sollte nicht solange drüber nachdenken, sondern einfach bestellen. Etwas falsches bestellen geht nicht!!! Und auch die Lage mit Hinterhof an der Kaiserstraße ist echt super.
