Great Japanese food - Edit
Very friendly staff that understand veganism and could recommend what we could have/be adapted. We had a vegan ramen & tofu katsu don set. Food was tasty and authentic.

I’ve eaten at Velar several times over the past couple years, they seem to maintain consistent high quality in their food and presentation. Although not Vegan, they do have a few vegan options on the menu, but not very clearly marked- required a conversation with the server. The menu is predominantly Japanese and food feels clean and healthy. Service was good and prices are a bit on the high side, certainly for the area. Since Chiang Dao doesn’t have too many choices for vegans, this is a solid option.

El tofu del apartado velar yakiniku estaba realmente delicioso, hay platos con huevo pero puedes decirles que eres vegano y lo modifican a tu gusto.

Delicious food, friendly owners, beautiful setting - Edit
The owners, a Japanese - Thai couple, are very friendly and have created a very special place. We liked it so much that ended up coming 3 times during our 4 days in Chiang Dao. They made a fully vegan hotpot for us that was delicious, and their matcha is probably the best one I have ever had.
