Vegan cafe - good food but needs improvement in other respects

I've visited three times. Whilst the food is good, I didn't enjoy the service, and find it overpriced for how the food is served. Older reviews might be based on old pricing. I don't like being forced to buy drinks either (see below)

It used to be much smaller in 2021. When I first visited, the tables were taken, and we didn’t receive friendly customer service about the logistics for waiting (no queue or list of names / told to stand outside). When we tried a cake to takeout, it was average.

They've now expanded with more seating. The original space is used for ordering. The new seating area is cosy and well decorated, but you need to go outside the door and a few steps along the road to reach it. It is self-service, so your buzzer will go off when time to collect your F&B. It can be awkward to carry your F&B to your table given you need to open the front door of the shop to get there.

Food tasted good, but being served in disposable ware ruins some of my enjoyment (especially for hot drinks and cutlery) plus having to run and collect the items is not convenient.

The menu states "Minimum order: One drink per head" but also states "All Sets Served with Hot English Breakfast Tea". I ordered two mains - not cheap - and was told I needed to order drinks as well. I asked about the tea and was told it isn't being offered over Chinese New Year holiday. However CNY is 1-3 Feb and this was on 6 Feb - I said this isn't a holiday, and they just told me "It's just not being offered now". I really don't appreciate first not receiving part of my set and then being forced to buy drinks I don't need.

Onto the food:
- Main: Quinoa, kale, avocado bowl (HKD125) - it tasted good, but a stretch to charge this much for a relatively simple salad bowl, in this kind of environment.
- Main: Vego all day (HKD148) - an all day breakfast, which has half a charcoal bagel with hummus, portobello mushroom, impossible patty with vegan cheese, some avocado and salad and fruit. Good and filling. I found the banana and fruit items a bit weird to be mixed with the meal.
Dessert: I really enjoyed my red velvet cake – it was moist and fresh, and right level of sweetness for me (my friend found it not sweet enough but I liked it).
Drink: I enjoyed the matcha latte. Hot chocolate latte for HKD50 is frankly overpriced for the size and again in a small disposable cup.

Would recommend Treehouse for a higher quality experience than here.

Cute Little Vegan Cafe

If you're looking for a good bagel-wich and a fun dessert, this place is for you. We also tried their avocado smoothie which wasn't sweet enough for my taste, but still delicious and smooth as can be. Will keep coming back as they seem to have a rotating dessert lineup.

Pros: All vegan, Cute decor and setting

Cons: Smoothies can be sweeter

Nice tea time

I ordered a piece of banana bread, fig cake and a cup of mixed berries smoothie.
The smoothie was delicious. The cake was decorated with beautiful flowers.
I enjoyed all the foods and had a good time there!
Note: Vego Coffee has expanded the shop size in Dec 2020 and now has plenty of seats.

Simple but great food

Small venue and small menu, but good selection of fillings you can add to a bagel or burrito (wrap). Note pizza, pasta and burger not available anymore. Also several cakes and a selection of plant milks for sale. Food prepared quickly, good service. Bagel is huge, burrito smallish but good for price. Tasted fresh and loved the melted shredded vegan cheese. Really liked taste of banana bread, although it was a little stale. Recommend if you want a light lunch in Jordan area.

Terrible service , ok if you want yesterday’s cake

We were excited to check our this cafe. It’s very small and seats about 6-7 people. When we arrived , the cafe was full. While waiting , my wife went in to ask the staff if there was some sort of system , such as whether we can get a number so we know how many parties are in front of us,.. but was rudely told to wait outside.
I am fine waiting my turn , but given the unwelcoming vibe and rude staff , I was keen to just leave and go somewhere else (which we did) but on the way home , my wife was still keen to try their desserts and got a takeout slice of cake and brownie.
When we tried the cake , it tasted stale as if it were baked yesterday. The brownie tasted like sawdust.
I didn’t get a chance to taste anything else on the menu , but pretty sure I won’t go back again.

Pros: Seemed to have lots of vegan options on menu , Reasonable prices

Cons: Desserts seemed stale , Very small , Rude staff

Cozy vegan cafe

Good value for money considering the size of the dishes. Lots of brunch-style options, vegan desserts and healthy drinks.
