Bye bye Gu Gu, best vegan in the city - Edit
Note: announced via the instagram page for Gu Gu, the restaurant will be closing around the end of January. See post here: https://www.instagram.com/p/CmEN1l9vNuD/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=
Read moreAs a farewell review, Gu Gu in my mind is the best vegan food in the city and will be sorely missed. The specials are always great. While some of the mainstay items are just average, like the curries, the staff at Gu Gu really have an amazing sense for how to balance flavors in their specials and their seasonal inclusions have always been amazing.
Pros: Great variety, Delicious, whole foods, Creative pairings and full portions
Cons: Literally none

Love this place - Edit
The burger I had was really delicious. It looked a bit small but in the end it was filling enough, think the rice bun is quite heavy and the contents, too, are filling and not as difficult to eat as I thought at first, since there was not the kind of sauce that drips out when you squeeze it together it was okay. I also ate the strawberry crumble cake that was also very tasty.

Incredible! - Edit
We had tried stopping by Vegi Kitchen Gu Gu before, but it was full, and I completely understand why. The food was truly amazing. I had the lunch set and for dessert a rich chocolate nut parfait. Everything was really excellent! We also took some delicious pastries to go that we enjoyed later.

Lovely atmosphere and great taste! - Edit
I would recommend making a reservation beforehand, if you don't want to wait for your seat. We went there on a weekday - lunch time was busy but in the afternoon it was just us. Ordered the dish of the day and some cake. Everything was delicious and the staff was very nice and welcoming!

(Probably) the best vegan restaurant in Nagoya - Edit
Nagoya is not the best destination for vegans but this place is your safe bet. It’s all vegan, they have a wide selection of Japanese and Western style dishes made vegan. Desserts are incredible too.

Incredible desserts - Edit
Thank you for a stupendous dining experience! Delicious flavors and original pastries. This is the place to come for creative, flavorful bowls/curries. My parfait was a tour de force! The burgers are a bit too small to be a proper entree, so my suggestion would be to make a slider plate instead with extra potato fries. Worth a visit!

Large menu with many different options - Edit
Great restaurant about 13 minutes walking from Motoyama station. Has both counter seats and table/booth seating. Waiting staff was friendly. Menu is in both English and Japanese. Food portions were a tad small but overall very satisfying. I had the katsu burger set and a pistachio tart. Both were delicious. Will be back for sure.

My new go-to in Nagoya - Edit
None of the typically bland vegan food served in many establishments. Lots of flavour and a comfortable interior. Reasonable prices and the sweets...oh, the sweets. I’d thought becoming vegan meant many fewer options in the dessert department, but this place has proven me wrong. Delicious.

Nice cafe with a lot of options. I had the curry with fake soy meat, which was delicious, but quite small for the price. The brownie was perfect though!

Best all vegan restaurant in Nagoya - Edit
This has become a weekly spot for us. The dishes are well thought out and you can tell the chef really cares. I would recommend the curry or sampler plate. The menu is different at lunch, so it is good to try lunch and dinner.

At this point, we have tried almost every single entree here, along with many of the desserts. Everything is always extremely delicious and flavorful. The atmosphere of the restaurant itself is very calm and inviting. You have to come here.

Best chocolate cake - Edit
All gluten free and delicious. Many good desserts but the chocolate cake stands out. Sandwiches are great to take away. Open on Mondays which is rare in Nagoya! Located on Nekogahora street and has some cats in the decor to match.

Cute, pleasant little restaurant - Edit
Cute little restaurant that has quite a nice variety of meals. They have a lunch menu from 11:00-14:30. I had the Curry lunch, which comes with a choice of 3 Spice Levels, topped with soy nuggets, and a side of salad. This is an Indian style curry, not a Japanese style curry. When I went it was packed, especially since it's a small restaurant, we had to wait a little while for a table. If you can, I'd recommend reserving ahead of time. The staff were friendly too. Overall, a very pleasant experience, and I would recommend if you're in the area.

cute cafe style - Edit
I loved this place. I had “vegan soupless hot noodle” which is rice noodles with beansprouts, nori, shallots, soy meat, etc. It was really delicious but not too spicy - you can pick from 1-6 spiciness and I went 3 but would definitely go 6 next time. Also had a ice coffee with soy ice cream floater and that was delicious too. I saw some others with an amazing huge strawberry parfait desert which I definitely would’ve ordered if I’d had someone there to share it with. I also got a takeaway lasagne for the next day, with a pinch of salt it would’ve been perfect and it came with really nice Japanese style bread. The owner was very friendly and the menu has English translations. Great place, I’d definitely go back when in Nagoya.

Wow this place is great! - Edit
Wow this place is great! It just opened and everything is vegan and they have a wide selection. The special when I went was maze soba; never thought I'd see a vegan version of that classic decidedly non-vegan Nagoya specialty in a restaurant! And it was really good!
Read moreThe set lunch was also very good, lots of interesting flavors and variety. Kids meals were also affordable.
Anddd the parfait for dessert was awesome!!! They also appear to offer craft beer but I was driving so didn't check it out.

I love this place and will be back again soon and often!
