Very slow but tasty food - Edit
Many vegan authentic Indian food options, good portion and decent price. The waiter was trying to do his best, he was quite friendly and knowledgeable, however, since he was working alone, the service overall was quite slow (including the drinks). It took 45 minutes to get our food and eventually we had to cancel the dessert coz it just took a bit longer than we expected.
Read moreHOWEVER, the food was deliiiicious and they had quite some interesting vegan dessert options, so I'll definitely go back to try the other options!
Pros: Delicious food , Many vegan options , Nice atmosphere

Amazing Indian/Comfort food - Edit
I tried the Veggiesaurus menu, which consists of 3 main dishes, rice, samosa, naan and dessert was delicious, filling, and reasonably priced. The spicy unChicken masala was proper hot (I was forewarned) but still very tasty. Friendly owner as well. Highly recommended! They also have an selection of (non-Indian) comfort food which I did not try yet, but will next time.

Tasty but slow - Edit
The veggiesaurus thali menu was made vegan, it was with fake meat, tofu and chickpeas curry. It was of a good size. The big issue was the wait time before the order and to get the bill.

The best Indian food! So fresh and interesting - Edit
The best Indian food in the country! (According to this Brit.) Fabulous authentic dishes, each uniquely flavoured, and some modern/fusion dishes too. The location is a bit strange - it's not on a main street, you have to make a pilgrimage there. But you definitely should make that trip!
Read moreFor our meal we started with a couple of "street foods" and they were delicious. I'm glad we tried the samosa chaat: a samosa complemented with a perfect chaos of saucy gravy and crunchy bits - recommended! It sounds bizarre but it's great. Then, the biryani was rich, exquisite-tasting with delicate nuts and spices. And "chhole bhature", goosberry and pomegranate flavored chickpeas served with a beautiful fluffy puffed-fried bread. It tasted fabulous.
The flavours were fresh and precise. Every dish very distinctive and memorable. Lots to choose from

Proper Indian experience - Edit
One of my favourite restaurants in and around The Hague.
Read moreGiven the location (in a hotel in an industrial area at the edge of the city) it's usually not very busy with people dining in, but it's well worth a detour. Best to go by bike or public transport (bus stop with connection to The Hague central station is right in front) since parking can be quite a hassle.
Then the food: everything I tried is either good or awesome. My favorites are:
- Indian classic burger: spicy potato-based burger in a bun
- Samosa chaat: crushed samosa's with chickpeas, vegan yoghurt, sauces and onions
- Vegetable dum biryani: spicy biryani with raita
- Chilli garlic naan: spicy and garlicy, just like the name suggests
- Thali: assorted goodness, like a thali's supposed to be
Veggiesaurus is also one of the few Indian restaurants I know of that serve vegan naan and vegan mango lassi, for the full Indian experience.
Don't forget to leave some room for their delicious cakes and desserts!
Pros: Properly spicy food, Vegan naan and mango lassi, Great value for money
Cons: Not very cozy, Parking is a [censored]...

Total unsung vegan hero of Den Haag - Edit
I'm from the UK so I spend a lot of time dreaming about good Indian food and here I finally found it. I don't understand why this isn't one of the top-rated places in DH. It's a little out of the way for sure, but they deliver so what are you waiting for?! Everything on the menu is vegan except a couple of paneer dishes, which is clearly explained, so vegans will have a LOT of potential dishes to choose from. The menu has a lot of Indian food and then some interesting Indian/Dutch fusion stuff and some Indian dishes made into burgers. I didn't try them yet, but I love the creativity! Food-wise, the samosa chaat is amazing and the thali is great and I'd eat the pani puri all day. The one thing I'd say is that I was full of excitement for the black forest gateaux but I didn't find it great really, it's not a proper black forest and it's way too sweet and dry, but everything else is fantastic and it keeps my english heart from getting too homesick.

Ruime keuze en goede smaak. Soms wel erg pittig. Een maaltijdvervoerder had eens de maaltijd verkeerd bezorgd en deze was kwijt. Veggiesaurus maakte de bestelling voor ons opnieuw, toppers!

I even had some left over for the next day, which is always a plus for me. I will definitely recommend everyone to order food here ♡

Update 2020:
Read moreSine the last review I've ordered here many times, it's not cheap but there food is the best vegan food you can get delivered in The Hague. Issues mentioned below are fixed now since they offer a thali and in the weekends a new weekend menu every week that consists of full meals. Also not sold out anymore recently. I really can't recommend this place enough.
Old review 2017:
We ordered some food to be delivered on a rainy evening. They were very friendly on the phone/sms, delivered quite fast, and we got some snacks as extras!
The food was very tasty, and some things quite spicy (as advertised). The only downside is that stuff like "mock duck in sauce" is just that, so you need to order a few different dishes to get some veggies, rice and 'meat' which is what I like. So you end up ordering food for about 3-4 people. Which was fine by us, but if you're just by yourself it's a bit impractical I can imagine.
But yeah, super tasty food here, will definately eat/order more often!
Update: ordered stuff a few time smore, but they seem to be crazy busy. A few times they didn't pick up the phone or told us they were too busy to deliver food. Sometimes not even a menu was posted on their site/Facebook. So definately try them out but prepare to order/eat somewhere else too!

Nice takeout option - Edit
Takeout of mostly Indian food. Mostly very spicy, but if you like that, it's really very tasty! The Naan is especially good. There are a lot of options to choose from and even some dessert. Very nice people working there.
Read moreI don't like that there is a lot of packaging, which is a bit wasteful.

fresh food in uncommon atmosphere - Edit
I was there with my parents and we were first surprised by the small size and the messiness of the eating room. The restaurant looks like you are in the living of someone not very tidy. It gives a strange atmosphere.
Read moreBut the staff welcomed us warmly and helped us to choose our dishes. We took different dishes to share and they were all very tasty (may be a bit too spicy if you are not used to indian cuisine).
The kitchen is open so you can see that everything is fresh and self made.
Prices are fair however, we expected some rice as a accompaniment.
Pros: fresh and self made food, Almost all the dishes are vegan, kindness of the staff
Cons: small and messy eating room

Indian food with an international twist - Edit
Some of the most delicious Indian food I've had outside of India, but so much more than that: Dishes from the world's cuisines, a weekly changing menu, generous portion sizes, reasonable prices, and all of it served with love and a smile. Kawita and Himanshu are wonderful hosts in every way imaginable, always finding new and exciting ways to please the palates of their guests, and pros in veganizing traditional dishes. Oh, and cupcakes! The salted caramel ones are my favorites. Don't miss them!

Just wonderful! - Edit
I discovered Veggiesaurus more or less by accident - I bumped into three very friendly people who distributed free food samples at a tram station. A public relation action by the folks of Veggiesaurus! We chatted a bit and they told me they deliver vegetarian and vegan lunch boxes to the offices in the Beatrixkwartier area. Yeah! That was a week ago and since then I tried 2 vegan food boxes - one Indonesian and one Japanese style. Both were just great. And the price is incredibly low - just EUR 5.49 per box! In total 12 other people tried the food together with me - vegetarians, vegans and omnivores alike. And it seems everybody loved it! Looks like we might establish a tradition at work – veggie lunches with the colleagues!
Read moreHow it works: the food for the next day needs to be ordered via the website by 8 p.m., this allows them to buy exactly the required quantity of fresh ingredients next morning. The description on how it works is quite straight forward. Perfect communication and organization as well.
I feel I’d like to check out their catering and workshops as well – soon!
The only downside: they don’t offer vegan dishes every day, but looks like this is going to change ;-) .
.....
Update - a few months and many delicious foodboxes later:
I finally joined one of their cooking workshops - it was called "Quick fix vegan meals". I was great fun and the food was marvelous. Can't wait for the next one...

Update: By now they opened their take-away and of course I became a regular customer. I just love the food. But yes, if you cannot handle spicyness, better say that up front. The food is very authentic, including spicy Indian street food. The owners are wonderful people and sitting down at the big table makes many people feel like home.
Pros: wonderful food for little money, friendly people, well organized
Cons: no daily vegan option

Nice take away - Edit
The cook was really friendly and helpfull.
Read moreWith 2 main and side (rice+naan) dishes and 2 cupcakes we ate enough (spend €26).
Ask for a less spicy meal if you can't handle it (like me ^^).
Not really a nice place to sit down, so I'd recommend take away.
