Hip yong and trendy

We heard so much about Veggie Planet we had to try. Decor was tasty and similar in style of Lutan 21. This place attract the young and trendy. Food is delicious. We like the porridge and the glass vermicelli dish. The chilli that came with the fried rice was super delicious.

Pros: good ambience, great food

Cons: upmarket price

healthy and good

Healthy and good food! You can get both spicy or no spicy, but I like spicy so I had a Tom yang soup with chilly and ginger! mmm!! They serve different kinds of soups, dumplings, veggie rolled, rice, salads, tofu, Tempe etc.
Price worth and bigg portions, ( around 8 RM for pre dish and 10-17 RM for main dish).

Pros: feels very healthy, fresh and good!

Cons: ask if it's vegan, one of the dishes had milk

My favourite in Malaysia

This is my favourite restaurant in Malaysia so far. It's a little out of the main Old Town area of Melaka, and on a big dual Carriage Way, but once you step through the door it's a delightful tranquil environment.

The staff are very helpful and attentive. The food is absolutely delicious and we returned more than once.

I would recommend the Laksa with Vermicelli Noodles. I don't now if I will get another one like it during my time in Malaysia, it was the tastiest I have had.

The Nasi Lemak is also very good.

Didn't like the Chamomile Tea, far too sweet for me.

If you are in Melaka you must go!

Pros: Laksa Soup, Staff, Atmosphere

Cons: Chamomile Tea

great little place - watch out for egg in the stir

This is a lovely little place, I never found it busy and it seemed a little oasis of calm after a hectic day out in Melaka.

I tried a few things on a couple of visits, and everything was made fresh to order. One thing that struck me was the menu description for the stir fried noodles listed no eggs, but when I ordered, it had been made with eggs. I suppose I should have checked beforehand...

This wasn't critical for me as a vegetarian, but the owner was horrified when I mentioned it. Just something to be aware of. Otherwise, food was great and very tasty!

The staff were attentive, friendly and welcoming and I enjoyed it enough to go a couple of times during my stay.

Pros: reasonable prices for tasty food, Clean, calm, friendly and welcoming

Cons: eggs not written on list of menu ingredient

HUGE PORTIONS OF DELICIOUS VEG FOOD

We ate here for lunch today after eating at Geographie café last night. The menu has similar items on it and at first we thought it may be the same owners however...

The portions are huuggeee and packed with flavour, veg, and are just amazing!

We had a green soup as recommended by another happy cow-er and it did not disappoint!

We also had their version of 'thunder rice tea' if you've ever heard of it- a dish packed with basil, mint, tofu, nuts, seeds with a soupy green liquid you pour on top. It's so good for you and leaves you feeling great!

The service was brilliant, the atmosphere lovely- aircon cool and fresh flowers on each table plus you get a free tea drink when you arrive.

We're going back for dinner tonight- see you there!!! :D

Pros: lovely interior, great price for portion size, veggie + herb packed

Cons: too many things to choose from! :)

Beautiful food and place

The place is neat, spacious, calm & quiet.

Dishes are tasty. I took the green soup (which is quite large) and tempeh cube curry as apetizer. I really loved them :)

But my friend was a bit disappointed by her vinegar soup, a simple soup served with vinegar appart... Nothing special about that plate.

The waiter was nice and funny.

We really had a good time :)

Pros: Tasty and large portions of food , Friendly staff, Calm & quiet place

Outstanding and original in Melaka

Our first attempt to locate vegan food in Melaka at our rather expensive hotel was a failure. Disillusioned, I turned to the internet and found Vege Planet a few blocks away. We were overwhelmed by the serenity of its Zen like ambience. The food itself was unlike anything else we had ever tried - green tea flavoured slip for example. The cuisine was fusion food at its very best. In essence South East Asian in terms of ingredients - tofu, Tempeh, soba etc - no one regional cuisine could capture the essence of our meals, which were stunningly original. We only had three days in Meleka, but went back twice to Vege Planet. Don't miss this restaurant, it's a truly gourmet food destination, even for a non vegetarian.... Vegans would jot find anything better than this anywhere...

Pros: Mainly vegan, but also vegetarian, Superbly original cuisine, beautiful decor

Cons: None

Great food, ambience and service!

It was a worthwhile visit and enjoyed the food much. Wholesome with real good and no artificial flavoring used. Price is reasonable and there is a wide variety. Shop front was obscured by bamboo trees, so slow down to not miss it. See pictures of noodle soup, nonya curry noodles, wanton soup, shop front and menu.

best Vegan Malaysian food so far!

Quite simply delicious. Excellent service, spotlessly clean, beautiful and peaceful interior but more importantly the food tastes AMAZING. Healthy, tasty and generous portions too. An absolute must if visiting Malakka. Cannot recommend enough.

Pros: authentic, fresh & healthy, tasty & full of flavour

Cons: wish it was closer to the old town

Healthy, tasty, generous servings - must try!

My partner and I loved this place. We dined here around 12 times during our 2 week stay in Melaka.
The food was so fresh, healthy and tasty. Portion sizes were huge, we would always share.

They offer a good selection of dishes - Chinese, Malay, Indonesian, Western, Fusion.
We recommend the Tom Yam (the best we've EVER tasted) for the perfect balance of salty, tart, spicy and sweet.
Also enjoyed the Lei Cha (preferred it to the one on offer at Simple Life), the multigrain rice porridge, fruits rojak, the dumpling soup and the red bean dessert.
The tempeh dish was more oily than I'd like it but you got a very generous serving. I've found that not many places offer tempeh and if they do, it's usually quite scant.
The prices were amazing considering the quality and quantity of the meals. Around RM7 ~ RM14 per dish.

Stylish setting with aircon, unobtrusive music and a clean well designed bathroom - something not very common in Asia!

All in all, this was our favorite restaurant in Melaka with Simple Life coming in 2nd and Restoran Selvam (a South Indian Banana Leaf restaurant) 3rd on our list.
If you like mock meat, try Miao Yuan Fang Veg Restaurant for some mock meat based vegan options of local favouites like rendang, nasi lemak & assam pedas.

Pros: Healthy, organic, tasty., Friendly service., Nice environment.

Cons: A bit out of the way but well worth it!

A vegetarian gem in historic city of melaka

A refreshing vegetarian dining experience. This is not the typical vegetarian restaurants you normally find in Melaka. They make peranakan dishes like Assam Pedas and Nyonya Curry in a very healthy way and delicious too. It is a must-visit restaurant for any vegetarian.

Pros: excellent food, healthy cuisine, good value

Slick and innovative

This restaurant is not a stand alone/family run/amateur affair like most vegetarian resturants but is owned by a larger food and hospitality group. The interior design is quite slick, and the menu is innovative. Not just the Chinese standards, but lots of Malay, fusion, and even Indonesian dishes. The resturant is completely air conditioned and the young waiters are smiley and energetic.

Everything I tried on the menu was good, perhaps the Nyona curry with rice noodles was the highlight. What was surpising was that the prices were quite reasonable...a meal for one would be about 15 ringitt. I can't think of anything wrong with the place...except they charge for a glass of water...of course I don't mind paying .50 ringitt...but a restaurant as good as this should be able to make their money from their excellent food, not iced water for dehydrated tourists.

Pros: diverse menu, cool design, good service
