CLOSED: Veggie Land

Veggie Land is no longer at their Brea location. I spoke with the owner-very nice! He told me that they still have a web site if anyone wants to purchase items. They have a new number also 626-905-8628.

I liked this store becasue it has a good amount of vegan things to buy plus the laddy that helped me that day was really nice. Everything that is vegan is labeled as so, if not just ask the laddy, she'll be happy to help. :) Get the black flat TVP.

I LOVE THIS PLACE!

Not only can you find vegan and vegetarian food, but you can learn to cook them too! Linda and Arthur (owners of this family business) will show you how to prepare everything from vegan/vegetarian food to raw drinks! They're also extremely knowledgeable about nutritional and wholistic health.

Every $5 cooking class is much more than a culinary lesson, but a lesson on proper nutrition and little known facts about proper health care. Practically everything used in the recipes is sold in the store and it is NOT EXPENSIVE. $1.99 for 2+ pounds of raw wheat germ is excellent, and no major retailer I've been to (and I've been to them all!) offers prices like that.

You can also get free samples of certain things and ask tons of questions about the various products in the store. SOME OF THEM ARE ONLY SOLD HERE! Specialty items not sold in the US, but special ordered from some of the close friends abroad are all over the store.

I also can't get over how friendly they are! The store is small, but neat and clean. The family is friendly and knowledgeable. You can learn to cook a full meal for only $5. Everything is vegetarian and/or vegan friendly.

It's simply perfect. The only issue I have is that I didn't know about them before they put a large sign up near the shopping center entrance. I can only imagine their clientele will grow. Remember to register and arrive for cooking classes early! They have a tendency to fill up very fast! :D

I love this family owned health store. They have frozen vegan ingredients that I may not find in any other stores/market. They have a cooking class on Sunday afternoon for vegans. I have participated in 3 classes. Each time is $5 and you get to try what Linda cooks. Arthur demonstrate the green/fruit smoothies before class and recommends healthy habits in eating a lot of fruits and vegetables before meals. I got a lot of ideas what to prepare for dinners from perusing their store and attending their cooking classes. The stuff they sell promotes health and vegetarianism. I love how the items are marked 'vegan' or 'vegetarian'. I wish that it is closer to my house.

This is a great family owned store!! They have cooking classes also for just $5. They have lots of Vegan foods and everthing is marked on label to let you know if it is Vegan! I shop there at least twice a week.
