Quality Vegan "Fast Food" - Edit
Whenever I'm in Santa Monica for holidays this is the place where I have my first meal. It's fast, simple and the quality is always good, you really can't go wrong in veggie grill. It's not the fanciest restaurant, but it's also not what you expect from it.

Read moreNachos: Has a long list of yummy ingredients but seems to mostly consist of soft mock meat and black beans with very little cheese, sour cream, salsa. Monotonous tasting and they put the chips underneath so they get soggy. Wasn’t a fan.
Veggie grill burger: My partner liked it but said the burger was really doing the heavy lifting here.
Buffalo chicken sandwich: Very mild tasting. My partner was meh about it. I don’t like things that taste strongly of mock meat and it was mild enough to be an ok sandwich? Nothing special but fills you up.

Not anything super groundbreaking, but honestly it’s THE vegan american food chain. Good burgers, good appetizers, a standard. Their rewards app is really easy to use and a fair rewards system.
Read moreI really recommend their buffalo sticks, extra crispy, extra buffalo sauce. They’re also tasty in the buffalo wraps. The Mondo nachos are a go-to too. I’ll never forgive them for discontinuing my favorite burger, the Lucky Star, though. But try the new Reuben, it’s DELICIOUS.
The parking situation is pretty cramped and busy, but that’s to be expected in this area.

Read moreThe taste is pretty consistent with seldom hiccups. I like that the company is always coming up with seasonal specials to entice people to return to try them. I'll get them sometimes, though they don't always taste good to me. I stick with my usuals.
Dishes we like: nachos, spicy chickn burger, regular fries, tempeh burger, sonoran bowl.
Sometimes we order too much of the fried and junky stuff, but they taste goo.
Pros: vegan, taste good, well-priced
Cons: high fat, high salt

Excellent place for vegans to bring carnivore friends, if you're hoping to show them that vegan food isn't all salads and beans. Lots of choice and the menu keeps getting better and better.
Read moreThey also have the Beyond Sausage now, which, as all local vegans will tell you, is very hard to get hold of in grocery stores right now.
Some of my favorites here are the Lucky Star Burger, Chick'n Burger, anything with the Beyond Sausage or the Buffalo sauce.

Veggie Grill is an awesome chain. Their food is delicious, and well priced. I ordered the Sante Fe crispy chickin’ sandwich and a bowl of mac n’ cheese, and they were both scrumptious! This was my first time eating at Veggie Grill and it did not disappoint. There’s something on the menu for everyone, from more healthy meals, to good ole’ home cooking! The staff is super friendly, and the food arrived quickly, regardless of how busy they were. Parking is a but tricky, being as its right on the main stretch, so I’d suggest getting there early unless you don’t mind a little bit of a walk. Veggie Grill is a great restaurant, with very good food. Definitely recommend to any and all people looking for a good meal.

They have a free parking lot behind the building, so we didn't have to look for parking in Santa Monica. There's a high variety of vegan filling meals and sides, which are cheap! Got our food really fast and it was soo delicious! Would eat there again!

Almost always have a positive experience here. They've raised prices in recent times, but overall it's the best vegan deal around. I like to order the Bali bliss which isn't on the menu anymore but they still make it. I did just order the quinoa power salad and some veggies were literally frozen. They're very good at rectifying issues when they arise though.

Great Food, Bad Parking - Edit
This location has all of the great food and service you would expect from a Veggie Grill but the parking is horrid. It's probably a function of being in LA but the lot only holds a handful of spaces that are shared with adjacent restaurants. There is metered street parking which is usually taken during the busy lunch hour. Other than that, it's all good. What this location would benefit from is a drive-through window.
Read moreLike all Veggie Grill's, not all of the food is healthy, so while delicious, there are some fattening entrees. It's good to check the nutritional content of the meals. They are also bringing in some lower calorie options which are great. I love this place and hope they do well.
