Fun place, great for vegans

My husband and I live locally, and are both vegan. We went at about 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, and we had to wait for a few minutes for a table-- we were happy to be in a bustling, energetic place. We got the vegan egg benedict and the BLT on rye-- we were served very quickly and both dishes were very good. And then we shared a slice of oreo cheesecake, which was heavenly! I can't wait to come back and try their dinner entrees.

Pros: Vegan bakery!!, Friendly staff

Cons: Closed 3 to 5

A vegan greasy spoon (in a good way)

This was a fun take me back type of experience. A lot of eating without worrying about the “healthy” rating of the meal!
Everything was super yummy, definitely filling, and maybe a bit over the top. But it really was a fun once in a while eating adventure that I would enjoy again in the future.

Delish veg/vegan diner & desserts!

The food is tasty vegetarian and vegan versions of diner classics. I highly recommend the poutine, mac, seitan chick’n, meatball sub. Desserts are all vegan, all top-notch quality, with many choices and rotating specials each week, and extra stuff on the weekends, such as a Boston cream donut. They even have a specific cheezecake special each week, and they know how to make good cheezecake. Don’t miss this one!

The absolute best

I want to live in this diner. I want to eat here every day. This is how good it is, seriously! The menu has so many amazing options, everything can be made vegan and all desserts are vegan by default. I had the chick'n & waffles and the Boston cream pie because I don't think I could get them anywhere else, and both were absolutely delicious. But I would definitely come back to try other items. What an incredible restaurant!

Great

Great comfort food, tons of vegan comfort food options. Pretty quick service.

*French toast - good but still very reminiscent of bread slices. Missing that rich eggy gooey inside and thick crispy eggy crust all over.
*onion rings (ordered the vegan Blu cheese with it) - excellent
*galaxy burger with Cole slaw - great although kinda struggled to keep it all together while eating.
*galaxy breakfast sandwich - great
*blueberry pancakes - great, but apple compote was a little too cinnomony or something
*rueben - good
*gyro - 9/10 great
*fried pickles - 9/10 great (tho when I ate them as takeout they weren't that crispy. I assume that's more because they weren't as freshly made. The pickle was a bit floppy too.
*special salad - 9/10 great

Would be amazing to see the menu go full vegan someday!

Craziest food I have ever eaten

If you want a US diner experience as a vegan, this is the place. The food was crazy, good but very filling and big portions. We were full for about 3 days. This is not a place for vegetables.

Awesome vibes and great food

This place has fun retro diner vibes, and a menu to match. I chose the meatball sub (where the meatballs are made in-house I believe) and took it to go. It was a *huge* portion size and lasted me 1.5 maybe 2 meals, which made the price point perfect.

Astronomically delicious

Only by pure luck did I manage to arrive at Veggie Galaxy after a frigid and wind-battered journey through the streets of Boston. However I’m here to say that although I faced many trials whilst stumbling after an unreliable navigator— twists and turns, traffic threats, etc.— the efforts were worth it a thousand times over . Frozen solid I limped into the glowing oasis that was Veggie Galaxy, and was immediately transfixed by its retro galactic charm. The promise of plants was the cherry on top and soon i was enjoying the vegan Southwestern Omelette dish which blew my socks off all the way to Texas and back like a magic sock boomerang . When i tell you i was stupefied and infuriated by the complex perfection of this vegan omelette i mean every word . a culinary masterpiece. I will be back very soon and i will be ordering the exact same thing . thank you veggie galaxy and thank you to our unsmiling waiter who morosely stated “Bone Appetit“ with a straight face i lost it so funny I love you veggie galaxy i miss you already

Pros: Extraordinary flavors, Great customer service , Aesthetic

Cons: Onion rings not good

Hello, aforementioned "unreliable navigator" here 👋🏻. As expected, gnomes2000 provided a colorfully descriptive if not slightly exaggerated review once again, and I feel obligated to set the record straight on a few key issues: #1. The onion ring shade is completely unwarranted. We actually ordered the fried pickles which were underwhelming to say the least (I prefer when they are crispy coins and these were more like doughy hunks...sauce provided was good tho) #2. As for my navigation, we missed one (1) measly turn that ultimately added a delightful 10mins to our beautiful stroll through the cambridge port area. #3. Regarding the weather conditions, the temperature was above 45*F and had my companion notified me of their freezing bones, I would have gladly swapped them my heavier jacket. # In closing, this was my 2nd visit to the delightful Veggie Galaxy, and it certainly won't be my last! On my first visit, I was lucky enough to try the shooting star special jackfruit chimichanga which was delicious. On the excursion graceously described above, I was fortunate enough to try the cheddar broccoli soup which was packed with great flavors and helped to cure my lingering head cold. thank you ♥️

A bit disappointing...

I'd heard so much about Veggie Galaxy, but I was a little let-down. I have many allergies and the waiter was a bit flippant. It felt burdensome to ask about the ingredients and the waiter was a bit annoyed to answer my questions. The food was good; we ordered (all vegan) waffles, mac and cheese, and broccoli and cheddar soup. However, I had an allergic reaction pretty quickly. If you have allergies, I wouldn't recommend it.

Out of this world vegan food!

Honestly if there’s one restaurant that could have a 5 star without being 100% vegan it’s Veggie Galaxy. A fun fast paced diner that’s 99% vegan and for some reason offers dairy in some meals but everything can be made vegan. This place has whatever you want ! Burgers, waffles n chicken (my usual) milkshakes, cake, donuts the list goes on. Conveniently located next to The Middle East music venue . There’s also a couple parking garages near by. Boston’s best.

Pros: Amazing food, Great service , Vibe

Great vegan diner experience

Old review from 2018: Great experience at veggie galaxy. Very heavy foods, ordered more than we could eat! Recent posts on Instagram are impressive and looks even better than when we first went years ago. I would go back!

Vegan Greasy Spoon

I love the idea of a plant-based greasy spoon diner, I wish every major city had one of these! It’s diner food, but it’s fast, affordable, and filling

Maybe I came during one of their off days :(

came here because i love trying vegan restaurants and this place had awesome ratings. i wasn't a fan the breading on the cauliflower and mozzarella sticks, It was so hard and almost teeth crushing. the cauli didn't have any distinct taste in my opinion and neither did the mac n cheese bites. i liked the soup however, that was very good. our server was really nice and she recommended we get a boozy milkshake. i really appreciated the recommendation but i didn't like the milkshake at all : ( i honestly felt pretty sick after the milkshake, and had to discard most of it. the restaurant looks like a diner and has a jukebox which was cute. if you're in the area and want to try some vegan food, you should try this place out, but make sure to read other reviews and get what this place is known for.

Perfect diner food!

I asked the server and she recommended the Harlem-style chopped cheese hero, which is in the pictures and FANTASTIC! Everything can be prepared vegan, and of course that's what I did. Quite delicious food, and quick service. It's located centrally and lots of who won and then otherwise cold grooming Boston Cambridge day. Artisanal sodas as well with free refills. Affordable. Big space. #Veganuary

Delightful

An amazing downtown location, humorously across the street from a McDonalds too! Fair prices for delicious food, I wanted 3 different entrees from the expansive menu! The service and cleanliness of the restaurant was also efficient and impressive. Our waitress made a personal connection with us and continuously checked on us. I look forward to
Coming back to this veggie diner 💛

Out of this World

This place is an excellent diner with amazing food.

It just so happens to be entirely vegetarian, and everything can be made vegan.

All of the cakes are vegan as well, I’m told, and there were a lot of options.

I had the chicken & waffles (best vegan I’ve ever had, and possibly best I’ve ever had), and everyone we came with loved the place and the food (the four adults we came with all eat meat at least some of the time).

My wife loved the gyro and the cauliflower.

Really great place. We’ll be back!

Best 1950's Diner Vibes

I love this place so much! The milkshakes are amazing, and I always get the chick'n and waffles!

The vibe is 1950's diner, with the best twist ever: vegan/ vegetarian! If you love mac n' cheese, or want diner breakfast food, this is the place! My boyfriend isn't vegan, and this has become his favourite breakfast spot! You can't beat the vibes and prices of their food.

Pros: All vegan baked goods, Diner vibes, Mac n' cheese bites are great!

Cons: Long wait everytime
